My daughter always complained that Sisters weren't allowed to count the number in attendance. She figured sisters litterally "don't count".
She got married at a private hall even though she was a witness in good standing. It was convenient to for her to get married at the same hall where the reception was to be held.
She had sisters for ushers. Eyebrows raised!. She also kept her name.
She is no longer married. She is no longer a JW. She recently graduated from college.
i just did some rough (haha) figuring to determine how many days i spent just sitting at the hall during meetings.
i just rounded to the nearest year to be liberal in take into account missed meetings and the like.
i know the number is higher but i dont feel like getting more exact.. this just counts regular meeting times, not before and after fellowship, not fs, meeting prep, or assemblies.. i came up with 349 days.
There is a rule of thumb that says it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something.
So I figured out at the age of 55 (being raised a witness) that I spent over 30,000 hours studying, attending meetings, going to assemblies, pioneering, cleaning the hall etc.
I guess I should also count the time I've spent on these forums straightening out my thinking.

for the past year, i have been observing the jw kids that i know.
i am in a unique situation as i work at the local high school, therefore see many of them on a daily basis.
let me tell you, 80% of them are totally undistinguishable as jws.

Critics were tough on this movie. I read the critics after - not before- I saw it.
Everyone I have talked to thought this was an award deserving movie. It makes movies like Sideways look trite.
When it comes to reviews I prefer the old guys. The young reviewers are just trying to make a name for themselves. They think that a movie critic is supposed to "criticize".
My favorite movie of all time is Hitchcocks "Vertigo". It was originally a critical & financial failure. I think that was true of It's A Wonderful LIfe.

Actually ALL conversation is with ourselves. Even posts on this board are notes to yourself. (Note to self: I've got to quit listening to other peoples conversations.) The power of prayer is in the belief that someone is listening who you can't fool.
Most people don't have the power to be brutally honest with themselves. Prayer is cheap therapy.
i have always wonder even as a young child growing up is how will we know that the world has entered into the "great tribulation"?
how will we know when it is armaggeddon?
will jehovah or jesus announce from the heavens that it is the time?
