But I howled at your Freudian slip.
Its Crisis of CONSCIENCE not CONSCIOUS!!
Although I do wonder about the average JW!
most of you have read about my mother having problems with the dubs yet still believing that they are the truth.
she surprised me today by going on kent and randy's websites and reading them -- she did this for most of the day.
now she is reading crisis of conscious.

Now the fact that I did 162 gigs last year in 139 different venues, (purely for research purposes - it's a tough job but someones. . .)has led me to these conclusions.
My favorite beer is GUINNESS, but only on draught, in the pub. It's just not the same in bottles or cans, even with a widget! Oh and forget the "extra cold", it kills the taste an spoils the texture.
At home I drink BECKS.
Wheres ENGLISHMAN? I thought he'd be one of the first to post! Or did I just miss him? I think he's a REAL ALE man. You know "BLACKSHEEP'S FORESKINS" or "PARSONS URINE" Ha Ha!
in a recent thread with a "witness" on this forum, i was told that he spent last night with my mother, as she was more than happy to "take it up the ass".
when i replied that my mother had passed on, he continued on with, "i wish i could feel sorry about your mom.
but i dont.
How NYT can seriously believe he was appointed as a MS by the HS is utterly beyond me.
He is one of the worst examples of JWs leading a double life.
Oh to be in his cong. when they finally make him an elder. Such a fine loving shepherd with total freeness of speech.
this is great!.
most days i have to walk through a shopping centre.. a df'd guy is always in there preaching.
he was df'd nearly 10yrs ago for basically disagreeing with everything the soc.
This is great!
Most days I have to walk through a shopping centre.
A DF'd guy is always in there preaching. He was DF'd nearly 10yrs ago for basically disagreeing with everything the Soc. and elders said. He was fairly new, and he believed he was annointed. In fairness he was also on medication for a mental condition. At the time I was disgusted by his DF as he was obviously ill.
He now seems recovered from his illness but he has for the last ten years stood preaching and offering WT and AW, much to the annoiance of the Elders who couldn't seem to stop him getting literature! The brothers hate him because he's still persevering without them.
Anyway, since I left in Sept '99 I've stopped ignoring him. I don't agree with what he does, which is basically direct people to the Org, but I no longer felt any need to ignore him. So we've passed the time of day, said "Hi" if I was in a rush, showed him my kids when we were shopping etc.
Yesterday he stops me with a face like thunder, asks me if I've left the "Truth", says I've joined a Satanic organisation, and tells me he shouldn't be talking to me and curtly bids me "Good Afternoon!"
I'M NOW SHUNNED BY THE BIGGEST OUTCAST IN OUR DISTRICT!!!
Please help I'm SOOOOOO Lonely!!
Oh and today he wouldn't even look at me.
And when I (rather naughtilly) said "Peace be with you Brother" as I passed, he nearly choked!!
Oh Well!
i was thinking about this un thing.
on one of the threads, someone had commented how the wt's association with the un would explain a lot of the changes in wt policy regarding blood, disfellowshipping etc.
i think this is likely.. it is entirely possible therefore, that the un association has been a good thing.
I see where you are going with this expat.
I think one of the things we should ask is, "What does this UN stuff prove?"
I think that arriving at the right conclusion here is v impt.
Does association with the UN prove that WTBTS is not God's Org?
I do not believe that that conclusion can be reached as it would imply that association with the UN is against God's law.
Surely the only safe conclusion that can be reached based on this or any other piece of info we have on WT, ie SilentLambs, wrong interpretation, dodgy history etc is that:
Jehovah's Witnesses are not God's EXCLUSIVE channel or EXCLUSIVE people. God does not use them EXCLUSIVELY or ALL of the time.
However when at times, whether individually or collectively they act in harmony with Gods' will, law or purposes, God acknowledges or accepts them.
This applies to other religions. They are not Gods' organisation but they do have his approval.
I too hope that this will force JW towards the mainstream, even if they cannot admit it.
Afterall being an NGO linked to the UN is a good thing not a bad thing.
my name is kevin and i am jon's partner.
jon gave me his password a few weeks ago and asked me to post to the board if something happened to him.
as some of you know jon had been undergoing cancer treatment since the end of july.
Kevin I am so sorry.
I e-mailed Jon and received a reply last month. My little girl sent him the "madcow" attachment because she thought it might "make him happy"
If you read my e-mail you will know that I truly identify with the situation.
Take care mate.

i was raised a jw & left when i was 19. my husband went to a few different churches growing up (catholic, methodist etc) but he doesn't really consider himself a member of any particular denomination.
he considers himself a christian, although he isn't sure what he believes or if he believes in the bible as god's word.. i have run from any type of organized group that is controlling.
i don't know if i believe in god, or the bible as anything more than a series of stories with life lessons in them.
1. Anglican
2. It is actually the nearest to our home. We believe we were led there because it is a genuinely Christian congregation.
3.To believe in Jesus as Saviour.
4.No I dont agree with all it's "official beliefs" child baptism being one, but no we are not obligated to accept them. Our difference of interpretation on that particular issue is respected ( just as we respect those who do accept child baptism). We are certainly not the only ones who disagree with certain bits. But the Church is united in its faith in Jesus as our saviour and ransommer.
