it appears the the commonwealth government is bringing in a national compensation scheme for victims of institutional child sexual abuse with individuals able to claim up to $150,000 each.
it's clear that the australian government will not be able to fund this program without serious money from the offending churches.

Listener, that amount is only low when set against US payouts. There is NO WAY someone like Candace Conti would have got 20m in the UK. It's the US awards which are hugely out of touch with the rest of the world.
I can't see anyway that WT will be bankrupted by these financial penalties, but at the end of the day it is the judgements against them which are important.

Still in touch with most of my friends from up there. I'm 50 now. Was in my mid 20s - mid 30s then

I thought Kendal KH was on the High Street above one of the shops. Spent some great times up there visiting mates who lived there. Thankfully most are out 😊

but instead starts selling off kingdom halls ..then makes faithful old brothers and sisters drive 20-30 miles to another one, and .kicks out half the bethelites for only only tech savy college educated ones.can barely afford to send out printed publications anymore.

hello all.... i am new here so i figured i'd make a quick post introducing myself and giving a brief intro as to who i am and what i'm here for... as well as to hopefully meet others.. so, i made a profile and in it i gave a pretty detailed explanation as to my intent here and exactly why i decided to participate in the boards.
in case you don't read it, i'll give a brief summary.

You got two things going on here.
One is your misunderstanding/disagreement with the trinity doctrine. The other is your total lack of understanding of both the Mormon church and the Jehovah's Witness organisation.
And I don't think you realise who you're speaking to. We get your long detailed explanations of 'doctrine' and JW/Mormon mechanics.
I too suggest you get yourself down to the Kingdom Hall and stop trying to educate us. It's way too patronising and we're not buying it. If you claim to be searching for 'biblical purity' but it's taken years of study with the Mormons rather than about 20mins to see that they are ludicrous then you should maybe stop wasting your time and have a word with yourself.
if you were a computer programmer and you were to create a simulated automated world, that would constantly evolve and self run after initial designs.
first you would have to code the rules, laws, and core elements of this world.
while this is being coded, the program is not run yet, so none of it exists.
I think you watch too much TV. Scientists says that the artificial gravity on 'spaceships' on Star Trek and Star Wars etc is practically impossible so good luck with this theory!
