recently, a funeral was held for kenneth taylor of wheaton, illinois who died at age 88. he is the author of the living bible, published by tyndale.

the living bible is often known for being a paraphrased version.

those who have translational concerns do not like some of the liberties taken by the living bible.

The New Living Translation is great too.

Has anyone read The Message version? It makes the NWT sound like gobbledygook.

How on earth we ever thought the NWT was a modern, easy to understand version I'll never know. Most JWs are still under the impression that other churches still use the King James version and have never seen a modern one.

The New International Version (NIV) is by far the most popular translation and makes the NWT look so dis-jointed

while surfing e-watchman's paradise forum, i clicked on one of the topics i never go to, "our meetings & assemblies" and found an interesting post on the wt bleeding financially.. it was posted 3 months ago.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/viewtopic.php?t=2888&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0.

in my neck of the woods (which shall remain anonymous) the do and co have been circulating the rumour that the watchtower society is in financial straights and is being bled dry.

this must be very pressing.
