How many Atheist organizations or irreligious organizations have been accused of the covering up child abuse?
by jwleaks ini don't know of any but would like some references if anyone does.
of course not all atheists or irreligious people need to belong to an organization.. studies on the demographics of atheism have concluded that self-identified atheists comprise anywhere from 2% to 8% of the world's population, whereas irreligious individuals represent a further 10% to 20%.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/demographics_of_atheism.

Time Magazine Article: Now’s the Time To End Tax Exemptions for Religious Institutions

Personally I think each has to be judged on merit. If a denomination can demonstrate and quantify what it does that is clearly charitable and would be willing to be inspected, I think that a Charitable Status is fine.
If they cannot or will not, then remove the tax exemption.
Most churches I believe would pass.

Sir David Eady to give judgement on the Watctower Appeal in the Otuo v Morley and Watch Tower case at the High Court tommorrow
by Adwoa Kromo insir david eady sitting as high court judge will hand down judgement tomorrow at 11:00am in the appeal of the decision from master leslie for refusing to strike out the claim as an abuse of process.
in his judgement in november 2014 he stated in his judgement delivered ex-tempore " i am bound to say that this case causes me a good deal of trouble".
from notes that i have from the hearing last week, i will be utterly surprised if the retired judge sir david eady takes a different view.

So let me just get this straight. Are we saying that this chap sued the WT for £150k for defamation of character, won his case, but WT appealed but the appeal has been dismissed? In other words, they have lost, been found guilty and had to pay £150k? -

Strange Moment During The 2015 Regional Convention
by JW_Rogue inhi, i'm new here but hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere yet.
during the "imitate jesus" rc there was a strange moment where they played a video of a brother trying to explain the 1914 teaching.
the brother quickly goes through all the scriptural "proofs" and the householder is dumbfounded.

Help finding video
by Pubsinger insorry everyone i keep asking for help.. there was a short video someone put up, it had letts saying 'we reject the claims of apostates that we cover up child abuse' and then it cuts to court footage of elders saying they were aware under oath, then cuts back to the same clip of letts saying the same thing.
then more courtroom footage and back to letts saying it again.
it was a great clip.

Joe 😊
Yep get what you're saying. I've been out 16 years and am reasonably experienced at chart to JWs. This is not for a current JW.

His 4th point is moot anyway because Jesus followers weren't collectively 'commanded' to preach. They were told to 'go make disciples'. If anything you could argue for a selective preaching work because of Jesus only choosing 35 pairs to go preach rather than send everyone.
