  my wife has held onto them like they were family heirlooms.

  we are cleaning and clearing out accumulated stuff and i pointed out that there is the cd-rom library now and that the society has made revisions and really doesn't want us to be reading the old stuff.

  she said that even though there have been changes to the teachings, the wrong understanding served its' purpose at the time.

  2005 Big Announcement (Disappointment)

  i remember around 2005, there was an announcement made from the platform that in a few weeks time we would have to remain at the end of the sunday meeting for a big announcement, directly from the society.. i remember all the murmuring, people thought maybe this was going to be related to armageddon.

  everyone was excited, people were speculating.

  only the po in each congregation had any idea what was going on, and they were frequently pestered for information, but sworn to secrecy, which only hyped things up even more.. then the meeting came, anticipation was in the air, the announcement started, you could hear a pin drop.

  Wasn't this around the time when the WTS switched from shunning the internet as being deplorable, to telling all to start using jw.org? And gradually promoted their web site only.

  we will be perfect at our jobs but that doesn't mean we will be perfect at every job.

  I always though of the old dirty men coming back in the filthy night shirts as totally smelly and unkept, I would not want to get within a mile of any of them if this fairy tale from sheep herders imagination did come true. The other side of the coin so to speak sounds much better. That you will see a bright light as you are pulled through outer space toward the sun and after see ing all your relatives saying welcome and you are feeling so happy like you were on Heroin, your journey stops at the head goat herder and he puts his arms around you and says We have been waiting for just you to show up. (self centered dream of most born agains). Both scenarios seem far fetched, than I try not to take either one seriously.

  they knew i was gone and awhile ago started asking me questions.

  Hee Haw was not clean

  so, my son bought me a device that allows me to look up and watch anything i want.

  i remember years ago , i enjoyed the television show hee haw on sunday evenings.

  i naively thought it was wholesome family entertainment.
