One story from along time ago maybe in the 70,s or 80,s a senior pioneer sister returned home from a meeting to find a burglar in her home. She quoted the bible verse last read and yelled Acts 2:38 and the burglar froze. When the police arrived and arrested him, they asked him why he froze and he said "She claimed to have an Axe and 2 thirty eights.

i am writing the post i have wanted to write for some time.

it's a heartfelt note to those still attending meetings, still caught between the lines of watchtower and the world.

those with kids or a spouse in the society..... despite being mentally out....those who have weighed up that there is too much to lose in leaving.

Trying to talk a Joe Hoover out of the Watchtower is like telling a Smoker to stop smoking. They are both hooked so tightly to their "drug" that they just can't see the truth for the smoke.

Christmas arrogance

one of the witness rebuttals that is used to belittle the christmas holiday is the one where they say that people reduce jesus christ to being just a baby in a manger, whereas the witnesses recognize him as a mighty king, a much more accurate and current way to view jesus.

a baby in a manger is a sweet sight on any day, it's true, but more is going on than meets the eye in the case of jesus.

this particular baby is the first baby to have been born without an earthly father, the immaculate conception.

she is tempted to answer but doesn't .

First time I've seen it with sign language, would make a good parody with a "worldly" interpreter and sign language with an attitude showing the third finger and cut throat signs .

"to the stake with him" instead of just a simple single english word, crucify . The writers went to great lengths to make up this phrase just so they can delete a form of a word that refers to a cross. Impale never fit either.

What checks and balances are there in place to keep a greedy GB member or someone higher up to just keep some of the money? Kind of like the story revealed last month of 2 nuns were found out of stealing over $500,000.00 from their church over a 10 year period and using the money to go on vacations to mostly casino lined cities.
