Oh, you're right, factfinder. My premise was wrong.
Let's go peak publishers to peak publishers year over year.
This year: 7,965,954
Last year: 7,782,346
Difference: 183,608
This represents a 2.36% increase. (They rounded up to 2.4%)

Will The Noah Movie Wake Some Up to TTATT?
by jw07 inthe trailer for the noah blockbuster has been released (even superman and thor are more believable myths).. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frtlt3deydu.
many jws on my facebook page are clamoring to go see it believe it or not.
others are pointing out the 'inconsistencies' with watchtower doctrine.. having something visualized and plainly layed out before you is useful when dealing with unthinking persons.. do you think that seeing it will help some jws to crtitically think about things they have read and glossed over?

Feb 15 study W/T up on jw.org
by konceptual99 inlatest wt is up.. reinforces jesus becoming king in 1914 (no let up on that date).
marriage of the lamb to the 144,000. yawn.... yawn..... celebrates the 100 year anniversary of the photo drama of creation.
it seems to me that every 100 year anniversary shall be celebrated just to try and take the wind from the sails of apostates.. .

I seem to remember earlier (many decades earlier) articles insinuating that the Jews could have / should have figured out the exact date for Messiah to arrive based on the 70 weeks.
You remember this because it was drilled into us in one particular public talk, which I have the outline for because I gave it many, many times.
"Paying Attention to the Prophetic Word"
Here's the relevant part:
WHY WE SHOULD BE KEENLY INTERESTED IN BIBLE'S PREDICTIONS (10 min.)
Prophecies help us to see where we are in God's timetable
Examples (Mt 24:1-51; 2Ti 3:1-5)
Daniel 9:24-27 helped Jews know Messiah's appearance was close
Fulfilled prophecies strengthen faith in Bible as God's inspired Word
Fulfilled prophecies testify to Jehovah's omnipotence, his omniscience; not only foresees but also has control of future
(Isa 46:8-10)
Fulfilled prophecies strengthen our faith in those yet to be fulfilled
Prophecies written for our comfort, hope (Ro 15:4)

MAJOR DOCTRINE CHANGE IN 1/15/2014 WT ON GENERATION TEACHING
by EndofMysteries inthe generation scripture no longer is speaking about 'the end'.
i'll quote it...... side note: tons of lies in this article, i'll point out at the end of the post.
"yet, jesus words at matthew 24:34 give us confidence that at least some of "this generation will by no means pass away" before seeing the start of the great tribulation.".

One of the basic failings of the model is that Jesus explicitly said that "no one knows that day and hour."
And he repeated that at Acts 1:7: He said to them: “It does not belong to YOU to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction;
And so what do we see in the 1/15 WT? Article entitle, "Let Your Kingdom Come"-But When? -

Who REALLY is doing the successful preaching work today?
by Faithful Witness inwhy do the jw's report their field service hours each month, turning it in for recognition by an organization...??.
jw's love to brag about their preaching efforts.
their very claiming the recognition for this work, is cancelling out their reward from jehovah god, according to the words of jesus in matthew 6.

Are there any stats that tell how many of those baptized ones, were a result of the preaching work? How many were children or relatives of existing JW's?
No, but anyone can just look at the baptism candidates and see that the majority are younger ones.
They love matt 24:14..and theN they bring up how the preaching work is more important than anything else. More important than love?
Great question. Matt 23:35-38, John 13:34, James 1:27, 1 John 3:11-18, 21-23, 1 Cor 13:1-3 (<-- especially this one)

Please, no offense intended here, but that's not a change, EOM. JWs today do not believe the GT has started in the past, and has, for as long as I can remember, believed it to be future. I think you're making something out of nothing with this one.
What JWs DO believe is that once the GT starts, it's all over for you. If you're in, you're in. If you're not in, you're out. Decision cast in stone, essentially. No chance for changing oneself. If one were practicing bad things up to the GT and the GT started, there would be no chance to survive past the big A. I have personally never seen this belief in print (it may be somewhere, but I'm too lazy today to look it up), but this has been perpetrated by COs and DOs for the past decade or so. Oh, and I would mention that "the end" to JWs is essentially from the GT through the big A. The GT is 'the start of the end', so to speak.

The 1/15/14 change isn't quite as major as it's made out to be. If you compare it to the 2010 change, it's only a little different.
First, as Blondie mentioned, the GT starting in 1914 hasn't been taught in decades. It's been future for as long as I've known.
Second, the change has to do with who it applies to, specifically around when they were anointed. The 2010 change had it apply to the anointed only, so that limits the scope. The 1/15 change makes it so that the 1914 side only has people who are anointed in or before 1914, and the overlapped generation has to be anointed during the time those of the first group were still on earth. They go on to say, "Thus, not every anointed person today is included in “this generation” of whom Jesus spoke." as if they know that all those in the first group have died off.

International Conventions in the U.S.A 2014
by XBEHERE inwhat's the deal with this?
could it be related to the rumored reduction of the ammount of dc's for next year here in thr u.s.?
elders in the northeast (i assume other area's as well) received a letter inviting them to a "special" meeting 2-3 weeks ago to discuss hospitality at int'l dc's to be held next summer.

In the Seattle area, it definitely does account for the reduction in number of DCs and venues. There will be one International Convention, with an expected attendance upwards of 40,000. No Tacoma conventions, and apparently no Tri-cities ones either. Probably some others as well, but I don't know which ones. We had a special letter read about the hospitality. It was a bit vague. Sounded more like they're trying to talk it up among the locals so they could have ones flying in from other countries be met at the airport, taken around a bit before an after the convention, maybe out in service, stay at the homes of locals, etc, for a 1-2 week period mostly afterward. Most JWs will be outwardly overjoyed at this, but the reality is that they are being demanded of to display hospitality for thousands of people in a very unnecessary way, and at their own expense. I have nothing against hospitality at all. I do have something against unnecessary burdens being put on people. Then again, I've come to expect this. Christ said of the Pharisees:
They bind up heavy loads and put them upon the shoulders of men, but they themselves are not willing to budge them with their finger. - Matt 23:4
