Was there any special announcement during this video? I overheard some JWs saying there's a special "gift" in the April video. No clue what they meant by that. -

It's not just that we're ignorant; it's that we're ignorant about the things we insist are most important to us.

You may possibly be correct. Or not. Doesn't really matter.
Revelation 20:7 shows that Satan is hurled into the lake of fire. When is death hurled into the lake of fire? Before or after Satan? If Revelation 20 is viewed in sequence, then death is hurled into the lake of fire after Satan is. (See Rev 20:14) If Satan is destroyed before death doesn't necessarily mean Christ is the one to kill him just because he's king. It makes sense that God would be the one to carry out that particular action regardless of who is king. Oh, and we must recognize that God is always king, even while Christ is. Just because Christ is king doesn't mean God is not. But, God has chosen to let Christ rule. That's what the covenant for a kingdom is about.
That said, who kills Satan does not affect our faith one iota, so it's not worth much of a debate.

Leaving-quietly, are you sure there will be 2 dramas about Jesus?? They must be listening to us here, because awhile back there were some posts here which mentioned that in all the org's histories of convention dramas (80-100 years or so), "Christ's brothers on earth" have NEVER ONCE produced a drama about Jesus.
I thought the very same thing!!!
Thanks to BluesBrothers for the translation. I mis-spoke. A "two-part" drama.

- personal study.

I've never heard of the five pillars. I've heard PASS for years (Prayer, Association, Study, Service) -

Two dramas about Jesus. Hmm. Me thinks they are going more mainstream here... This RC will probably appeal to a much wider variety of people than past conventions. -

The translation of the Greek verb khre·ma·ti′zo as "by divine providence called" is unique to the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. It has been translated as such from the beginning (1953) up to and including the recent 2013 revision. An examination of translations via Biblegateway shows that they all translate khre·ma·ti′zo simply as "called" (except Young's).
In this case, the NWT appears to be giving a translation that brings in the flavor of the word, and in this case, I agree with the translation. From Strong's Exhaustive Concordance:
From chrema; to utter an oracle (compare the original sense of chraomai), i.e. Divinely intimate; by implication, (compare the secular sense of chreia) to constitute a firm for business, i.e. (generally) bear as a title -- be called, be admonished (warned) of God, reveal, speak.
Also, see here and here for other interesting writeups about this.
In reviewing this history, I have resolved to refer to myself as a Christian only.
Rutherford selected one Hebrew scripture for his re-branding strategy - thereby denying every Christian scripture which commanded Christians to witness for Christ!
Yes, and the verse Rutherford chose was there for a particular purpose. A reading of Isaiah 43 shows what that is. It was not to be a name for a religious organization, otherwise, the Israelites would have been called "Jehovah's witnesses" 2500 years ago.
