Regarding the "wash all parts of their body" part:
The "brothers" on the writing committee only mentioned that because they are secretly jealous that a dog can lick his own "jewels"
i have noticed in a few posts lately that there have been negative articles concerning being owned by pets.
the only bound volumes i have are 1991 through 1995 and the only things i can find in the index are a few snippets in watching the world except for an article in the 1/22/93 awake which was quite possitive.. the negatives that i read are that pets take time and money away from service to our dearly beloved printing society.
can anyone give me some quotes?

our forum's now chapter likes to slander christian believers over alleged poor treatment of women.
in truth, the bible advanced women's rights in the ancient world, even in a paternalistic society.
here are the results of research into this topic.. num 5.12--the trial of bitter waters (sotah) is a an amazing provision by god for a woman to publicly clear her name (and indict a dysfunctional husband in the process).
Okay everyone, repeat after me....
The Bible is full of s**t
The Bible is full of s**t.
There, now you know how I feel.
moscow (ap) -- the prospect of a u.s. attack on afghanistan brings an ominous message from veterans of the soviet union's decade-long war with afghan guerrillas: you'll never win.

``the u.s. has made the charge before verification, even before possessing the minimum evidence about such a charge,'' saddam said, saying the u.s. accusation was really leveled ``against all muslim peoples.
Path, you are obviously very anti-war and don't want an unreasoned attack against those who probably didn't have anything to do with this terrible outrage. Neither do most Americans. Most intelligent persons in the US do not think that bombing the heck out of Afghanistan is the answer (there is nothing there to bomb anyway).
However, we are going through a predictable cycle of grief here. People that we know and love have died (or may be sent into military conflict).
We are hurt. We are angry. We don't believe this could have happened. Our first reaction (as is most peoples) is to reach out and destroy those who have done this. But there is no one there to destroy.
The US is in a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. The US is accused of being rich and not helping the poorer countries. However, if we try to help democracy (thereby increasing the likelihood of a nation raising itself out of poverty) we are acused of interfering. Yes, I know, we have screwed up in the past. Yes, I know that most of the time, we only want to help those countries where we may have interests. Perhaps we should turn our face away from suffering in these countries and for those who ask for help, just so we don't screw up again. What do you think? Stop our aid, stop forgiving debts, stop the peacekeepers, stop our doctors going into impoverished countries to perform surgeries, stop it all. Mind our own business.
I am 100% positive that if this had happened in Canada (or England, or Austrailia, or China, etc) that the world would be in the same state of uproar that it is today.
This is not just an attack on the US. Over 50 countries have people in the WTC who are dead. Do you really think the terrorists didn't know how many nations where represented there?
PS. Why on earth would you listen to anything that Saddam has to say?
i am new to this, actually my hands are shaking as i write this.
i have been "lurking" for several months now, and am filled with doubt and fear.
i was baptized 20 years ago, but have never been in the center of things.
Welcome! My whole body started shaking when I realized the "truth" about the GB.
Isn't disturbing when you realize that you cannot trust the WTBTS on anything?

i originaily said to myself that i was not going to post anything about last sundays "drama" at the dc because i did not want to stir up trouble.
but after reading about the watchtowers' less than charitable attitude toward their nyc neighbors i had a change of heart.. i sat there that morning with my wife and relatives, my eyes heavy from lack of sleep, children on either side of me already in dream land.
the drama was an old favorite; moses and korah.
If I'm remembering correctly, we had this same drama in the early 80's. Are they out of material now? Are they showing re-runs?

We'll go forward from this moment
It's my job to have something to say.
They pay me to provide words that help make sense of that which troubles the
American soul. But in this moment of airless shock when hot tears sting
disbelieving eyes, the only thing I can find to say, the only words that
seem to fit, must be addressed to the unknown author of this suffering.
You monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard.
What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward's attack on our World
Trade Center, our Pentagon, us? What was it you hoped we would learn?
Whatever it was, please know that you failed.
Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned your cause.
Did you want to make us fear? You just steeled our resolve.
Did you want to tear us apart? You just brought us together.
Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and quarrelsome family, a
family rent by racial, social, political and class division, but a family
nonetheless. We're frivolous, yes, capable of expending tremendous emotional
energy on pop cultural minutiae -- a singer's revealing dress, a ball team's
misfortune, a cartoon mouse. We're wealthy, too, spoiled by the ready
availability of trinkets and material goods, and maybe because of that, we
walk through life with a certain sense of blithe entitlement. We are
fundamentally decent, though -- peace-loving and compassionate. We struggle
to know the right thing and to do it. And we are, the overwhelming majority
of us, people of faith, believers in a just and loving God.
Some people -- you, perhaps -- think that any or all of this makes us weak.
You're mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed, we are strong in ways that cannot
be measured by arsenals.
IN PAIN
Yes, we're in pain now. We are in mourning and we are in shock. We're still
grappling with the unreality of the awful thing you did, still working to
make ourselves understand that this isn't a special effect from some
Hollywood blockbuster, isn't the plot development from a Tom Clancy novel.
Both in terms of the awful scope of their ambition and the probable final
death toll, your attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of
terrorism in the history of the United States and, probably, the history of
the world. You've bloodied us as we have never been bloodied before.
But there's a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us
fall. This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last time
anyone hit us this hard, the last time anyone brought us such abrupt and
monumental pain. When roused, we are righteous in our outrage, terrible in
our force. When provoked by this level of barbarism, we will bear any
suffering, pay any cost, go to any length, in the pursuit of justice.
I tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people, as you, I
think, do not. What I know reassures me. It also causes me to tremble with
dread of the future.
In the days to come, there will be recrimination and accusation, fingers
pointing to determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be
done to prevent it from happening again. There will be heightened security,
misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms. We'll go forward from this moment
sobered, chastened, sad. But determined, too. Unimaginably determined.
THE STEEL IN US
You see, the steel in us is not always readily apparent. That aspect of our
character is seldom understood by people who don't know us well. On this
day, the family's bickering is put on hold.
As Americans we will weep, as Americans we will mourn, and as Americans, we
will rise in defense of all that we cherish.
So I ask again: What was it you hoped to teach us? It occurs to me that
maybe you just wanted us to know the depths of your hatred. If that's the
case, consider the message received. And take this message in exchange: You
don't know my people. You don't know what we're capable of. You don't know
what you just started.
But you're about to learn.
doesn't it feel good to not be a jw at this point in history?
through the fear of the last few days, i do have comfort from scripture about my eternal salvation through jesus (as a witness you never felt secure with god--don't miss a meeting or field service for long or you're out), but also because my husband and i can display our american flag on our cars and in front of our house to support our country!.
as americans, we will not stand for terrorism and i'm proud to be in this country.
I said the same thing to my husband this morning. It may be a trivial thing in the face of what is happening, but I am so glad to be able to show my patriotism.
i just spoke to bryce at bethel information line (hopefully this was not just nytelecom1 himself).. this is what bethel has done:.
1. donated batteries and flashlights.
2. power equipment to cut through concrete.
I'm not offended. I truly despise the JW religion and their leaders. I have love for some of the individuals in this religion. I just wanted to know for myself what they say they have done.

3. Medical Supplies to the firefighters
4. They have also offered space and shuttles for the injured.
