hey who here as a kid added little embelishments to the wtbt publications?
a real favourite was drawing in arrows and spears on the guys on the inside cover of the song book.
you know the ones clutching both hands to their chest as they sang their hearts out....well all of mine were actually clutching at an arrow that was sticking out of their chest.
I knew someone who made all those guys in the back of the songbook look like they were eating submarine sandwiches (with their mouths open so wide it looked pretty real!lol)
I used to make lists of things I had to do or write notes to my friends sitting next to me (and this was even when I was over 30 years old!)
why is it that most r&f witness can take anything the gb dishes out and swallow it whole?.
my mil takes everything she reads in the wt and calls it "meat in due season".
i guess this week's wt is about patience.

I think there is a difference between a "God" and a "creator". In my mind the word "god" brings with it a connotation of goodness, of benevolence, of caring. That's why I don't believe in "god" anymore. I believe in a creator. A being that put humans on earth.
I am not an apologist. I make no excuses for "God's", "Jehovah's" behavior. There are no words or actions that can rationalize in my mind a loving "God" who allows atrocities such as the above to happen.
I don't think there is a "god" overlooking the earth. If there was a creator who put us here, he/she/it has long since left.

i thought it might be interesting to post a survey for those who post on this forum.. perhaps it will provide a basis for some additional stimulating discussions on god and religion.. with that in mind, i have posted a survey of 10 yes/no/unsure questions on the bible/research forum.
I'm actually a very light hearted person. Just getting some "you're not welcome" here vibes lately and trying to figure out what's up.
Path said that the board is dead and some are trying to pump some life into it. But, others, like 7, seem to like it dead.
So, is it a holdover? Am I just misinterpreting?

7, the lighten up was meant as just that, lighten up! You like things dead? You like a small intimate group? Others are not welcome, is that what you are saying? So, again, you are saying that you want to belong to a small, elitist, dead group, just like the jdubs.

One thing that always disturbed me, even when I was deep into the whole JW thing, was the way that women were treated and talked down to.
I think it's that whole 1950's mentality - especially for those on the GB and the CO's who were brought up during that era. Women were to look nice, keep quiet, cook dinner, clean the house and give their husbands sex. They were not to speak out, to correct a man, to put forth their own opinions and especially not "teach" in the congregation. What BS!
