Fake letter from the branch re counting of time
by stuckinarut2 inin another thread, one of our members made up a great satirical letter that sounded like something the society would write about how to count time now.... it included counting all time spent in preparation etc.... (can someone please post the link here??).
i used the letter, edited it a little, and copied it on to official letterhead for a stir..... it is going on the notice board when i can casually slip in the hall one day..... .

Trinitarians! Who is Jesus Christ's father the Holy Spirit or the Father?
by booker-t inthis is one question that trinitarians try to avoid because they have created a very embarrassing problem.
the bible is very clear when the angel tells mary that holy spirit will overshadow her and she will become pregnant.
the angel does not say the father will overshadow her but the holy spirit will and if the holy spirit is a person that would make him the father of jesus.

Jonza,"factfinder: So you believe Jesus is just a Mighty God? not Almighty? So you believe Almighty is greater than just Mighty?"
I think he means that the Messiah would be called a Mighty God. Never was he referred to as Almighty.
He would have mighty powers for example perform miracles, but he would was not called Almighty God who would have complete power; omnipotent ability to perform everything. Not just one miracle at a time but thousands which Jesus will learn.

Jonza "What is funny is that none of you accept the trinity simply because you cannot understand it. It does not make sense to you. Yet the Bible clearly supports the concept. Just because you cannot understand God does not mean He does not exist a certain way. Either Jesus is God and there is only one God, or the Bible is false. Simple as that."
John 1:1 there are two. The Word was with God.
Maybe God YHWH declared later Jesus as God as Hebrew 1
The Spirit of God, is that the same as the Word was with God? I do not think so.
Other churches makes some good points on what the Spirit can do,however they lack on the Holy Spirit part of Trinity.
Anyhow there is something unique in The Spirit, so I can no longer play it down like the Wt to just air or wind.
If people received Holy Spirit third person of Trinity GOD,and it dwells in us we would be a god. joke! We should all be gods like Thor but with different hammers.:-)
Obvious it just a matter of what everyone believes or not.

Did Any Atheist/Agnostic Revert Back to Their Former Beliefs?
by Space Madness inare their any former atheist/agnostic on here who reverted to christianity or a belief in god.
i became an atheist back in july and it was the most unfulfilling depressive period of my life.
i'm now starting to rebuild my relationship with god and i'm already starting to feel a lot better.

Design that made me laugh!
Sparrow, I did the same! Unfortunately, with time everything changed. Like minded people all moved or went to other kh, and the doctrines changed.
It is a hard one but some day you might leave again realising that you out grew like minded folks.
In some odd way that is what we have in common with atheist. :-)
Anyhow, there is no such thing as a perfect religion so I wish you happiness and peace of mind.

Sparrow, I had to learn that simple way of Christanity and Jesus hope! I agree with you because Grace is simple. There really is no reasoning to double check the bible for deeper meaning. Now they try to tell me only certain ones God will give a deeper understanding! Bull! Crazy.
You are so right!
I doubt any JW could have a heart felt love for Jesus because they are too busy convincing people with smooth words and building "WT Mcmansion." Did you ever notice how many times they expressed "heart felt love" as to convince everyone how they should feel. People heard it so much that it means nothing!
Grace just feels good!

Five years ago, I started viewing Atheist online sites and listen to YouTube debates, found the cartoon very funny, and looked at a few books but realized it was not for me. Never looked back. I decided my faith would be on Jesus and the Almighty. Yes it was depressing.
There are probably a lot of former JW who go through several stages before they return back to God.

5 years inactive and still sometimes I'm haunted.
by ctrwtf ini've lately been thinking about the pernicious nature of the belief by the jw's that they are the one and only true religion.
how this belief allows for an egotistical world view and allows them to shun and denegrate those that do not share their opinions.. please pardon my round about thinking process as i've been mulling this rant for some time.
while my father's side of the family has been entrenched with the jw's for two generations before him, my mother was a new convert.

I sure can relate to what you wrote. I trying to make up for lost time with uncles and aunts. Found out that I have a 98 year old aunt!
Back in those days religious people would argue about some doctrine and that would be it! Cross one legs or remarried! Why bother ever sharing a religious view point if it prevented people to never speak. My mother seemed to want to try to preach to relatives and it kept them away. Relatives were all very nice about it but she would not let it go. Points to prove. She would need to bring it up. Preaching was her thing and she thought she had the truth. Meanwhile, the relatives had their understanding. Basically they argued doctrines. I still have not found that side of the family.
