  Dropped two bombs on jw mom....

  my jw mom sent me the same press release that was circulating on the board last week regarding a radical group who was trying to get religion and national borders abolished through the un.

  anyway, there was no commentary from her in the e-mail, which says to me that this is a "silent warning" to become a dub before i die in armageddon.

  I doubt anything could "happen" to you as a result of this letter. I learned of the UN affiliation through an elder's wife who, in her total and never-ending blindness, justified the WTS and their need for a library card! This was before I started to fade, but had already had plenty of doubts and was just exhausted from all the cognitive dissonance, so what she told me ended up being the second-to-last nail in the coffin as for my allegiance to the WTS (the last nail was the pedophile/SilentLambs information I gleaned from the internet).

  Therefore, if the rank and file are aware of the UN affiliation (my "friend" got her info from ones she knows at Brooklyn Bethel), then what you wrote is in no way "apostate".

  I hope your mom isn't as blind as my "friend".

  Very, very well done! Congratulations! Just sneaked it right in there didn't ya? Way to go!

  BTW, this bit of nonsense is really making the rounds. A JW "friend" sent it to me (I'm still in "good standing", at least I think I am!), and I told her not to be speculating about such things, that I checked out the website and that it was not from the UN, blah, blah, blah. I just wish I had your post at the time, then I could have snuck something in also about the UN.

  I'm sure every dub with internet access has seen this and is hoping for the big A any day now!

  that's right ... this time to get my degree in law ... yep ... and i will still be here posting away ... but i will be busy reading all kinds of jurisprudence material, case law, etc ... i am enrolling tomorrow ... and i won't have to spend a full four years because of prior credits ... so, you ask, what kind of law?

  trial law, specifically criminal law.

  Wow! that's awesome. I work with liars lawyers, but in the boring commercial/real estate field. You'll actually be doing something to help people.

  my mother was conned by the jehovah's witnesses when she was just forteen years old after sitting in with a schoolfriend on a bible study back in england.

  What a crock! At one of the meetings my mother listened to over the phone, a JW said something to the effect that JWs are honest in business dealings, don't steal from their employers, etc., contrary to what "worldly" people do. Gawd almighty if non-JWs were really as terrible as they are described in WTS publications, there wouldn't be a pencil left in my office. The vast majority are honest, hard-working people who do not need a bunch of old men in Brooklyn telling them not to steal - they own consciences work just fine, thank you very much.

  Neither do I see anyone overindulge in food. In fact, most of the overweight people I see are at conventions. I think many JWs have to find solace somewhere and food is about the only "permitted" thing around for them.

  It's unbelievable to see how childish the WTS is. Telling people how much to eat, what to do with their time, yada yada yada. Cripes.

  That may be true but we don?t eat out 3 times a day or even 3 times a week. Most of fix our own meal and eat at home rather than having someone else fix it and leave home to go somewhere else to eat.

  Most of the food we eat, we buy ourselves, fix ourselves and eat at home.

  Great point! That's a keeper, I'll have to remember that one.

  so, i got home from my tryst and sure enough, everyone knew all the details.

  so a judicial comittee was set up.

  i was accused of coercing a happily married woman to drive 8 hours to spend 4 days with me in various hotel rooms all at her husband's expense.

  Remembering my Dad...

  today marks the third anniversary of the passing of my dad.

  age 79. heart problems, stroke, and then burst artery in his heart.

  one of the most painful ways for a human being to die.. despite our disfunctional life, i remember the good and let go of the stuff that brings me sadness.
