  Thanks for your story. It's heartwarming to hear that you become a better husband and neighbor since you abandoned the WT policy. JWs need to hear that. They have no idea what their rigid doctrine do to them-talking robots that programmed and trained to what to say and yet emty inside.

  I went to the Watchtower Study with the "Selma and Steve" article today, and....

  no, i didn't really - but i'm anxious to hear from anyone who did!!.

  what happened after the paragraph was read?

  did anyone try to denounce abusing one's spouse under any circumstances, or were most answers supportive of the "advice" given to selma, i.e.

  Sister A(an elderly): Her unbeliving husband was very violent. She tried everything but still she got nothing.

  Sister B(an elderly): Her unbeliving husband was also very violent. Some one pointed out that it was her attitude which was the problem. She's been working on her attitude for decades and he still not in the truth but they have better relationship now(probably due to old age)

  MS(a very humble guy): You don't strike yourself. Steve needed show love to Selma. (the conductor moved on to entertain next one without acknowledging MS's comment)

  Elder A: Selma got the point when she was told who is trying to be a Christian here. She applied it and then things worked out for better. (immidiatly follow by this comment the Conductor made one and said,)

  the WT study Conductor: "Golden Rule doesn't work until you apply it. She needed show love to her husband if she wanted to be shown love."

  Beyond resonable doubt it is a mind control Cult.

  Alteration in the German Watchtower about spousal physical abuse

  i noticed that the german edition of the study watchtower for today didn't include the phrase about the husband "hitting" the sister.

  instead it just says that he became ferociously angry, which need not imply physical abuse.

  i wonder if the german translator altered it off his own back or was instructed, and how other language editions compare.

  In my lauguage, it exposed criminal(who faled to show complete love and endurance) Selma's identity by posting her English name'Selma' but concealed innocent victim Steve's identity by simply mentioning him as 'husband'

  How To Learn A Second Language, Ideas, Thoughts On Which To Learn?

  no doubt there are polyglots on jwn, what do you think the best language to learn is?

  spanish, french, german, tagalog or?????.

  what language did you find most diffucult to learn, does anyone speak hindi, farsi, arabic or any asian languages?

  I am a not a native English speaking who have been studying English more seriously last a coupl of years in my 40s'. Learning English is not the easiest thing. I endeavor to listen and watch English chennels whenever I can. Coming here JWN site has helped me with furthering my English writing skill beside being enlightened.

  Thank you for putting up with my English. BTW Tornapart, thanks for the site.

  Steve definitely hit Selma in Chiness or Korean or Japaness.

  I believe in two of these languages, omitted 'Neutrality' section from the 'Rasoning Book' in order to avoid being banned themsleves (the WTS) from these countries.

  I enjoyed reading about 'splinter Groups' on your website. It's informative and thank you for all the hard work you put into it JWOP.

  Every ex-JW sites are unique in their own ways. I am a believer of more (ex-JW site) there are better it is in helping people from being con by the Cult.

  Actually I have been told by my non-JW friends and family that I look 10 years younger since l unshackled myself from slavery.

  The thing is that they don't even know my current status with the borg. They think I have found the fountain of Youth or something.

  So You all chin up and don't let slavery bozos ruin your perfect days!
