same old WT, the more the go on about this the more the will alienate some but the core believers will stay no matter what they say,

Headship and WT's Changed Understanding
by Bobcat ini don't think anyone has mentioned that the february 2021 study wt (p. 15, 16; par.
8) changed wt's long standing view on headship within the congregation.
wt used to view all baptized males as being the head of all baptized sisters.. this view led to such absurdities as a sister having to wear a head covering on a bible study because her baptized 10 year old son was sitting in on the study with her.

The Patriarchy Paradox
by LoveUniHateExams in^^^ this is the title of a youtube video made by a teacher of 16 and 17 year old eton students.
he made it as a study aid with the idea being that it would stimulate debate.. eton superiors told him to remove it from the lessons, which the teacher did.
they then told him to remove it from his personal youtube account, which he refused.

just because people (feminist etc) challenge the status quo doesn't mean that they want to turn society on its head - er, yeah, they do. You haven't been paying close enough attention.
Ok, now is your turn to give an example.
Progress as we know it has often been a result of people challenging current views and forcing society to think differently - ok, but what happens when all legitimate demands have been met?
Someone will find something else to bitch about. The quest is insatiable.

Woke Oscars cringe
by LoveUniHateExams inactors' acceptance speeches have often been a little dodgy - viewers don't care what political or social views actors may have, we typically appreciate actors acting well.. this year's oscars awards ceremony seems to be going above and beyond, however.. here's frances mcdormand's acceptance speech, in which she dedicates her victory to 'our wolf' and then howls like a bitch, lol.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-_be0awgwk.

The left is going to have to learn a hard lesson. We or many of us don't want to watch some woke BS movie where blacks are inserted and out of place and we don't need nor want some stupid BS lesson on inclusion or any other woke crap. Personally I do not watch any movies that have an obvious woke theme or placement of blacks that are out of place and therefor a message. the awards are nothing more than a circle jerk. I never watch the crap and I don't watch sports at all. And if I want a movie that is out in theaters there are many ways to watch without giving dollars to Hollyweird.
This comment is loaded. You are equating the woke movement with paying people for their work in Hollywood. As you rightly said that you don't watch what you don't like and that make sense. However, trying to find "many ways to watch without giving dollars to Hollyweird" penalizes also those who might share your point of view of the Woke moment. They still need a job and they need to get paid.

Drastic Upcoming Changes? (accelerated by the pandemic)
by JWTom ingood to see you again!
much discussion now about the fallout that is coming due to impacts of the pandemic combined with the long-term downward spiral of jw.org.
i am active as a pimo and my wife is pimi....much of our personal conversation and conversation with others in jw land focuses on how things will play out for jw.org in the next 12-24 months.

They will not eliminate the DFing. In Belgium and France, some years back, they changed the wording for DFing from "Exclure" to Excommunication to match what the Catholic church uses as there were legal reasons not to "Exclude" someone. If the courts are going to go after the JWs, they will scream discrimination and say that the Catholic church does the same.
Notice the language use in the following question from readers. The basically said not we don't reject or exclude ex-JW we just want them to come back to their former faith...

1. Does the activity require that a sister pray publicly or teach from the Bible while a baptized brother is present?—1 Cor. 11:4, 5.
2. Even if a baptized male is not present, would this assignment normally be done by a baptized brother?—1 Tim. 2:11, 12; Heb. 13:17.
3. If the sister is married, is her husband present while she publicly prays for others or teaches them from the Bible?—1 Cor. 11:3.
I like how they spin the bible to say whatever they want. What does "publicly prays" mean in the context of a home bible study? If a woman is in her house, this is not public prayer and the presence of her husband is irrelevant but this is the WT

They can sidestep the elders that way. Plus they been complaining for years abouth DFing people for small things. If they go online basically congregation arrangements will stop to exist, no need to DFing people anymore. CO arrangement haven't improved anything in congregations.
if you look at the JW as a business corporation that it is, there is no way to control that many people without middle management that the Elders/COs and Branches committees are.

Covid 19 True Infection Rate / Proof of Misinformation
by Simon inthis is interesting.. you've probably heard of "asymptomatic spread" which is, people who are infected with the virus and are spreading it, but who have no symptoms.. but is it accurate?
is it supported by the statistics?.
this video analyses the facts and concludes that we've been given misinformation due to faulty testing.

1) A highly contagious, but statistically non-lethal virus.
the "non-lethal" part doesn't fit your narrative. What does it mean?

Women have the rights to go topless in certain parts of the West but they have to cover their nipples (see the freethenipple movement ) - this is a First World issue if ever there was one, lol. You'll have to give a better example than this. It's a simple fact that, in the West, women enjoy the same rights as men (and rightly so).
I though that was a very good example I took a First World example as you said women in the West... Women enjoy the same rights but they are not often allowed to exercise those rights in the same way. The same way as men have the rights to be gynaecologist but some women wouldn't want a man performing science on her cherry. Some men wouldn't want their wives going to see a male gynaecologist. Having the same rights doesn't equate to being able to exercise those rights at the same level. That is another example now below the waistline
The above is debatable - what's debatable? The ironing out of many wrinkles or not being able to turn society upside down and expect to thrive? Both points seems pretty clear to me.
There are still wrinkles and just because people (feminist etc) challenge the status quo doesn't mean that they want to turn society on its head. Progress as we know it has often been a result of people challenging current views and forcing society to think differently.

They are already consolidating congregations and selling KHs. Circuit overseers (costing $$$$) will be reduced as the number of circuits is also reduced.
Mid week meeting will likely be online and a lot of JWs will thank Jay for such fine thoughtful blessing
D2D preaching will remain but as someone posted a few years back that the monthly ministry report will be abandoned. That means less pressure to preach and there will be no shame of reporting 1 or 2 hours per month. Another blessing from Jehovah. This is likely a possibility since they have reduced the magazines to only 3 per year. How are you going to preach(make your hours) without magazines?
Pioneering will continue but the hours are between you are Jah. This is already happening with pioneers told to abandon their monthly hourly requirement because of the pandemic.
More people will be kicked out of bethel and translation offices as they move from paper to video. There is also a good chance that public WT will be abandoned.
DFing will stay.

I thought you were going to discuss his sacking. The teacher could have made the video private on youtube and just move on. He was probably trying to make a point and he has the right to do so.
What I found particularly interesting re Eton's reaction to this video is that Eton itself is an institute committed to the development of boys - it's an all-boys fee-paying school. Strange, then, that Eton should seemingly hate masculinity, lol.
Hate masculinity is a strong conclusion. If you were to ask people from different generations what their opinion of what masculinity is, most response will lean on societal ideas of their upbringing and environment. The older you are, the more your views of masculinity will be aligned with woman staying and home and the man being the bread winner. Younger generation will likely not share that point of view.
We have ironed out many wrinkles (in the West, at least, women enjoy the same rights as men) but we can't turn society upside down and expect to thrive.
The above is debatable and it also depends on where you live in the West. The fact that women have certain rights doesn't mean they are allowed to exercise them in the same way as men. Women have the rights to go topless in certain parts of the West but they have to cover their nipples (see the freethenipple movement ). Then you have society call those women whore.
