april 23, 1933 - the most significant date of all.
every single one of you will, of course, know the significance of this momentous date in the history of god's people and their "inspired", ark-like organization.. do you know what was the significance of that critical date?.
do not expect the earthly media to provide you with a clue.

i was wondering if anyone is aware of any recordings of the convention as of yet?
i know its relatively early, so i may just have to wait.
just curious if anyone had a copy yet.. thanks!.
Ann:
I found that comment (not yours, but at the RC) about Satan's world making some progres to be downright weird. It sounded like Satan was somewhat reformed and trying to do better, but just too-little-too-late. It sounded strange when he is supposed to be having great anger and causing woe for the earth and all that.

The best thing I got out of this thread was finding out about the Chrome download resume option. I don't know how many downloads got interrupted and had to start over in the several years I've been using Chrome.
That aside, it made it possible to download the entire set of DC MP4s. Which leads to the question, why are 8 million JWs going house to house to invite neighbors to a DC that may be hours from where they live? Think about it. They would probably be much more successful getting some of those neighbors to watch it, or even a portion of it, on their computers - if it was available.
So what is more important to the WT - Getting people to see the information presented, or getting more souls into the convention site?
This, in itself, exposes the real concern of the WT.
(If you are using Chrome and want to activate the download resume option, type Chrome://flags into the address bar, and scroll down about halfway to " Enable Download Resumption Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS" and click "enable.")

The Chrome Download Resume option works great. No glitches so far. Downloaded Sunday AM (4.1 GB) and I had to "Resume" about 7 or 8 times. Each time it picked up where it left off without a hitch.

I may have found a fix for Chrome. I'm testing it now. You type "Chrome://flags" (without the quotations) into the address bar of Chrome. A list of experimental options will appear. About halfway down is the option "Enable Download Resume." Click on enable.
To use: Chrome has a download bar at the bottom of the window. When a download fails, simply right click on the tab showing the failed download and click on the "Resume" option in the context menu.
I'm trying to download Sunday AM and it has already failed. "Resume" has picked up where I left off. We'll see if I can get the whole thing (4.1 GB)

I've tried several times and after downloading a while I get a 'download fail - network error.'
I use Chrome. Anyone know a fix or something that would allow a download resume. In Chrome, if I try the download again it starts from the beginning.
Thanks for any tech help.

the society has improved their game.
i just got home from the regional assembly.
it was a well-choreographed, technically excellent affair.
Stillin:
Where did you attend (if you can reveal that)?
discreetly!.
that was the word the speaker used to tell jws at the regional convention that when the need to visit or associate with d'fd family members....okay to do so......only discreetly!.
on friday morning in the 6 part symposium entitled 'what must be kept in second place?

Bobcat, that was very good listening skill. So, JWGonebad is right. The word discreetly was used at your location. I missed it, apparently. It would be interesting to see how the GB interprets this.
It helped that I was tipped off by this thread. My wife and I sat in the upper regions of the arena (due to size of the crowd). The lighting up there was very poor. More suited to watching a game than following along in one's Bible. So I concentrated on analyzing the program and where it was headed rather than try to look up the verses they often asked you to look up. Many of the verses they used I already knew (and often was able to tell my wife which verse to look up before the speaker said). I think I pay attention and analyze what I hear at the KH and assemblies far more than the average JW does. Of course, my form of critical analysis is not WT approved. It takes some effort to try to listen and not get mentally annoyed at their propaganda methods.
It was also interesting to watch the program on the big screen TVs. Once you got used to that you rarely looked at the actual stage. This arena had two big screens on either side of the stage and also big screens on the score-board(?) that hung directly over the ball-court.
2014 regional convention:.
on friday, on the last speech of the morning, (the "key speech"), a bethel member slipped in some "new light" rather casually, without much fuss.
he mentioned the out-of-body experience of the apostle paul, in 2 corinthians 12:2-4, where he experienced being "caught up to the third heaven ... caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible words...".
The speaker identified the "third heaven" as the Kingdom that was born in 1914. He also said since Paul called it a "revelation" ( ἀποκαλύψεις ) in 2 Cor 12:1, it had to refer to something in the future from his time. No proof offered for those statements. (The word occurs at: Luk 2:23; Rom 2:5; 8:19; 16:25; 1 Co 1:7; 14:6, 26; 2 Co 12:1, 7; Gal 1:12; 2:2; Eph 1:17; 3:3; 2 Th 1:7; 1 Pe 1:7, 13; 4:13; Rev 1:1)
There was also the typical arrogance: "We" (including the audience) have a new understanding. "Jehovah has given" it to "us"
discreetly!.

Since this thread has run its course, I'll make a comment about Friday's program:
It was interesting to see how they wove several thoughts into the whole day's program -
Like I said, just from a propaganda standpoint, it was interesting to see how they wove those three ideas into the day as a whole. Obviously, the individual parts are analyzed to bring about or achieve an overall goal that is bigger than any individual part. As some have mentioned elsewhere, there was also some crass emotionalism in some of the video presentations and the afternoon drama. (Yes, there was a short live drama in the afternoon.)
