Another JDub fairy tail
by Sour Grapes innow that the talks for this summer's conventions are available online i read through them and they could have been written in the early 70's...same thing no changes.. talk #50 "future events will require courage - the final test" illustrates how jdubs have lost so many brain cells by studying the watchtower and going to meetings that they will not even think about the reasonableness of what the speaker will be saying....they will just be a crowd of bobbleheads.. the outline says "at the end of christ's thousand year reign, satan will be released "for a little while".
the devil will convince some perfect humans to rebel.
" my question is how many is some?

Hi Cg,
Here is a post I made on another site where I included comments about Mt 1;23 from the NICNT-Matthew commentary. Look a little ways down in the post where Matthew 1:23 is cited for the part that is pertinent to that verse.
Hope your Saturday has been good. I'm sitting here and watching a documentary on Hitler and WWII on NGTV.

And what's the difference between "Family Day" and "Mother's Day" or "Father's Day" or one's birthday?

Personal Data Permission (Spain)
by paradiseseeker ini had the meeting yesterday and there it was announced that there will be a new law passed in spain regarding personal data.
that law makes it compulsory for the wt spanish branch to collect a signed permission from the publishers to keep and utilize personal data.
no choice was given to us, we were just told to make sure we hand in our signed permissions before may 18th.

Think of all the leaked WT classified information that has come out just on this site, or the leaked pedophile information that has gotten into the hands of lawyers. Do you really trust the WT to keep your information secure? And you would have to trust, not just the WT corporation, but everyone at Bethel who has access to that information.
IMO, it would be far safer to think about it for a while. You can always give your permission later (than May 18th), just as you can also cancel your permission later. But once they have your info you can only trust that they will delete it.
That's my opinion anyways. ("No choice was given . . ." - Sounds like the elders are in a bind between what the WT wants and being fair with people. This is their way of solving that problem.)

Thanks Atlantis,
The section on refusal to consent with personal information is very interesting. I take it that this is WT's response to new laws in the UK. This could provide those who are PIMO another way to fade.

Remark at memorial about growing annointed numbers
by Gorbatchov indon’t know if it was part of the script.. at the memorial the remark about growing annointed numbers including this numbers from 2015 to 2017 was made (from 13.000 to 18.000+).. reason for the growing numbers could be:.
- feeling annointed because of former believe.
- psychical reasons.

If you asked one of the servers at the Memorial why they passed the plate and glass to everyone they would say, 'that is what Jesus said to do.' One could then reply, 'that is the exact same reason why I partook.'
At the last supper the only ones who partook were the ones who were not "anointed."

How is Babylon the Great a kingdom in Revelation 17:18?
by jwdoctrine inin revelation 17:18 we read: "and the woman whom you saw means the great city that has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.”.
the watchtower's official position is that babylon the great is the worldwide false religion and nothing else but we never really think of babylon the great as a real country with physical borders and citizens?
i just finished writing an article on that, let me know what you think.how can babylon be a kingdom over other kingdoms in the last days?.

If you take it in the context within which it was written, it could not be referring to America or the RC church. The angel who announces that 'she has fallen' (Rev 18:2-4) is speaking to John in the 1st century and using the aorist tense, as if this is something that has already happened and encouraging "my people" to get out of her before her plagues arrive.. The USA and Christian institutions had not yet come into existence at that point in time. Isaiah chapter 2 better fits the situation described in Rev 18:2-4. According to NT writers, the "last days" corresponds with the whole of the Christian era starting with Jesus' first advent. (Heb 1:1-2)
On the idea that it might picture the USA, there was a fictional book that took it that way, called Alas, Babylon (here).
