I took it as an honest question also.

WT rules about forgiving a cheating spouse
by Addison0998 indoes anyone else think it’s weird and controlling the organization says if your mate commits adultry, and then you have sex with them, you are not free to remarry again, since this means you forgave them.
the bible never mentions anything about this.
it’s so weird they have a say about what goes on behind closed doors of two people who are still legally married.

JW babies don't always get blood transfusions
by OrphanCrow init is a common misconception that a jw baby who requires a blood transfusion will get one through a court order.
this does not always happen.. the following study demonstrates how a jw baby is vulnerable to being used for experimental procedures.. sn-mesoporphyrin interdiction of severe hyperbilirubinemia in jehovah's witness newborns as an alternative to exchange transfusion.. the condition that these two jw babies had was hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice).
in both cases, the parents refused to give permission for their babies to receive an exchange transfusion after the standard treatment of phototherapy didn't work.

So how did the babies do after the experimental treatment? Did they survive? Complications? Just curious.
Wait, I just checked the report in the link (silly me):
The 2 cases described in this report confirmed the efficacy of SnMP in terminating progression of hyperbilirubinemia in infants in whom phototherapy had failed to sufficiently control the problem and whose parents, for religious reasons, would not permit exchange transfusions. Interdiction of severe hyperbilirubinemia by inhibiting the production of bilirubin with SnMP can be an effective alternative to the use of exchange transfusion in the management of severe newborn jaundice that has not responded sufficiently to light treatment to ease concern about the development of bilirubin encephalopathy.
I'm glad it turned out well in their case.

Hi Addison,
This reminded me of the inconsistency of WT logic. For example, if an elder's child who lives at home gets DFed, the BOE is supposed to review that elder's qualifications to see whether he still qualifies to serve as an elder.
In one case I knew of, an elder's at home child got DFed. The BOE continued using the elder for some 5 months before the CO ordered them to meet with the elder to review him. In my mind the BOE did the same thing as the situation you described, and, logically, that should have cancelled out any review of the elder's qualifications. By continuing to use the elder for five months, their actions in effect said that the elder was still qualified to serve as an elder. But they don't see it that way.
And try using that example in the marriage infidelity example you gave. You won't get any where with the elders. Logic and fairness never win over following WT rules.

Armageddon started...
by mikeflood injust joking i really don't think so...but the situation in syria is pretty worrisome...just hearing the news that france and great britain are attacking with cruise missiles in 72 hours.
i mean assad is not gonna gasify his adversaries when he almost won the civil war.
trump too suspended a very important trip to the latinoamerican presidents summit in peru, just to 'oversee the american response to syria.

So maybe the Russians are really weak.
Not militarily, especially in a regional setting. If the US and Russia get to shooting at one another, regardless of who comes out ahead (if anyone), the US will get its nose bloodied. And that in itself may be very shocking to the US. The Russians are quite capable of doing that.
I wonder how the US public would deal with the sudden news of a sunken carrier or some other surface ships and maybe several thousand dead and wounded sailors from a single engagement? It would be a stunning blow to the public's perception of the US as the lone superpower.
Now whether Putin is willing to cross that line remains to be seen. I personally think he has reached the point, mentally, to take that step. And if he does, I think China will turn out to be a big ally for him. China could prevent the US from being able to concentrate forces in the Middle East by making threatening moves in the Pacific.
I don't see the US coming out ahead in this unless Putin simply backs off and lets the US have its way. But I just don't see that happening. Putin and the Russians are getting fed up with the US. It is a very volatile situation.

This is interesting. From what he said and what the screen shows this might put all those brothers out of business who make computer programs to schedule the various meetings and duties. (A long time ago I made a program for the TMS - think DOS for how long ago.)
If so, then, the database is going to have to keep far more information than just 'name, rank, and serial number.' It will have to have fields/tables for whether one is an elder, ms, pioneer, etc.

Hi Vanderhoven7,
On that first quote, I recognize the "Advertise . . ." part, but did not realize the quote included "1874" as part of it. The WT never quotes the 1874 part when they quote the "advertise, advertise, advertise" part.
Thanks for the list of 'famous last words.'

To me, what will be really interesting is what kind of defense Russia puts up for Syria against any sort of cruise missile and aerial assault. Russia has been claiming to have some very effective SAM and EW capability in place.
If there was an assault against Syria and suppose Russia effectively blunted it, there could be a significant shift in how the world views Russia vis-a-vis the West, and especially the US. On the other hand, if the strike was effective, Putin's claims about his new weapons systems (and thus his reputation) would take a hit.
Of course, the possibility of some sort of escalation between the West and Russia is also worrisome.

Hotdog "rumour" - need verification
by Fay Dehr inin view of the recent jw broadcast warning about "rumours", i wanted to verify what has repeatedly been spouted by a certain am3:.
"i saw bodies resembling human hotdogs" (or words to that effect).
i have no idea where to begin, so perhaps some of you across the pond in usa may know some useful search tools?
