What really happened around 1918 when WT leaders were imprisoned?
by dubstepped ini had never thought about this until just now when i saw that nathan natas posted some early tract from rutherford, and it made me think back to what little i could remember of the history i was taught.
i now know that in most cases the dubs will spin stories in their favor.
so i'm now assuming i was told some fictitious story about what happened when the leaders were thrown in prison and things looked bleak for the cult way back when.

Does this make any sense “according to the number of the sons of Israel” ?
by I_love_Jeff inhow does god dividing humankind and fixing the boundaries of the peoples “according to the number of the sons of israel” make any sense if the nation of israel did not even exist yet?
(genesis 10) "it makes little sense for god, shortly after he dispersed the nations at babel, to have based the number of geographical regions on the earth on the family size of israel, especially since there was no jewish race at the time (genesis 10 table of nations).
this problem is compounded when one considers deuteronomy 32:9. what logical correlation was moses making when he wrote in verse 8 that god "set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of israel" and then made the concluding observation in verse 9 that "the lord's portion is his people, jacob his allotted inheritance" (niv)?

JW babies don't always get blood transfusions
by OrphanCrow init is a common misconception that a jw baby who requires a blood transfusion will get one through a court order.
this does not always happen.. the following study demonstrates how a jw baby is vulnerable to being used for experimental procedures.. sn-mesoporphyrin interdiction of severe hyperbilirubinemia in jehovah's witness newborns as an alternative to exchange transfusion.. the condition that these two jw babies had was hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice).
in both cases, the parents refused to give permission for their babies to receive an exchange transfusion after the standard treatment of phototherapy didn't work.

Hi OrphanCrow,
I hope you don't think I was being facetious. I was curious about how it turned out for the babies. And then it occurred to me that you provided a link.
You are right that those with a bad outcome would probably remain anonymous. And even the parents would probably blame 'the luck of the draw' rather than the Org and its policies.

Ignore my post about the Adultry
by Addison0998 inhey guys, please ignore the post about rules about forgiving a cheating spouse, for some weird reason, it keeps reposting it, and i don’t know how to delete it or even if you can.
and i didn’t mean to offend anyone with it.
i’ve forgiven someone who has cheated on me, but choose not to stay with them.

You didn't offend me Addison. I thought it was a worthy topic. Sorry it got caught up in 'binary hell.' It's kind of like the movie where the man wakes up at 7 am and it is the same day all over again. (ARQ ?)

WT rules about forgiving a cheating spouse
by Addison0998 indoes anyone else think it’s weird and controlling the organization says if your mate commits adultry, and then you have sex with them, you are not free to remarry again, since this means you forgave them.
the bible never mentions anything about this.
it’s so weird they have a say about what goes on behind closed doors of two people who are still legally married.

I took it as an honest question also.
