Hi Fall Guy,
Thanks for the listing.
Whenever WT wants to define who are Christ's brothers in Mt 25:40 they go to Heb 2:14-16. They can't bother with the closer context because it ruins their deception.
mattew 12; 50 for whoever does the will of my father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”.
to all jws.
who are jesus brothers and syster?.
Hi Fall Guy,
Thanks for the listing.
Whenever WT wants to define who are Christ's brothers in Mt 25:40 they go to Heb 2:14-16. They can't bother with the closer context because it ruins their deception.
i was just wondering if there is any official rules on dealing with this.
a sister in the congregation is planning to divorce her husband who is also a witness so she can marry a different brother in the same hall!
yes this is a huge scandal!
Look in the w83 3/15 pp. 27-31, especially under the sub-title "Scriptural Divorce".
i was reading something else on jwn and remembered why i started questioning wts definite statements of fact.. i was asked by a non-jw to prove these 2 points from the scripture:.
1. when did the 2,300 days in daniel 8:13,14 start?
this scripture therefore suggests that jesus himself is the archangel michael.. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1102005160?q=jesus+michael+archangel&p=sen.
Hi Blondie,
I researched the 2300 evenings and mornings of Dan 8:13-14 in relation to the Jewish-Roman War of 66-73 AD. The connection to the Jewish-Roman War is Jesus' words at Mt 24:15 which connects the prophecy in Daniel about the abomination of desolation.
So, based on that connection I took the related prophecies in Daniel and researched if I could find any relation with that 1st century war. You will find the research starting on this post (which is post # 232) and extending on down to post # 249, if you are interested.
my previous thread talked about how the jws believe that jah will magically remove all memories of their dead loved ones in the "new system.
" thus no sorrow.
ok so god will erase all memories of your dead children from your mind.
Is it possible that the problem is not so much the Bible as the WT explanation?
For example, Isa 65:16-17 does not actually say that God will erase memories. The meaning might be that there will be good times to such an extent that the past troubles will fade into the background, no longer being a concern.
Even today people tend to put their past troubles behind them when good times come. They, no doubt, remember what happened in the past. But present good times mean that they don't dwell on the past.
i just recently attended a circuit assembly and they asked that you did not share any video with anyone and i’m just wondering why this is .
Question: Is there any legal strength behind their instruction not to share videos of the assemblies and conventions? Or are they just saying it and hoping their perceived authority compels people to obey?
They are renting/owning the facility. But the gathering is open to the public as advertised by them. I was curious about the legal issues of letting people video but instructing them not to share.
spiritual 'pharisaical legal text' makes you 'accountable' if you attend a jw 'judicial committee'.
'regular' jw's attending a 'judicial committee' automatically and without realising it, both admit to a 'wrongdoing' and 'subject themselves' to jw .org-inisation 'elders'.. it has also been well-documented that jw .org is 'coming after long--term inactive ones, that are causing 'divisions'.. there is a greater emphasis being put on 'shunning' those labelled with 'apostate' (behaviour).. the 'slanderous' naming and shaming of (former) members who have questioned the jw.
org-inisation is relentlessly being propagated in both publications and their gatherings, such as their ironically named 'love never fails' 2019 convention.. ironically, the scriptures they often refer to such as the one at titus 3:10 the original greek word hairetikos, which is translated to the the word “heretic,.
Marked. I feel for you Marina. I wish you peace.
i am confused about the time scale regarding the year of the destruction of jerusalem.
in the 1st october 2011 watchtower an argument is presented to back up 607 bc but there are so many conflicting arguments that this happened 20 years later according to secular sources.
your thoughts please..
Marked for Babylonian time line.

The difference between 587 and 586 bce is explained in this Wikipedia article (especially footnote # 2). It does not have anything to do with the chronology that leads up to the start of the Babylonian siege.
Trying to use the question of 587 or 586 as a basis for throwing doubt on an entire established chronology is a form of grasping at straws.
This post (from another site) also shows how non-WT dating gives greater insight into a few other things in the Bible. The WT has traded away better understanding in order to have a chronology that ostensibly supports their supposed place in history.

Here is Carl Olaf Jonsson's book. He has it as a free PDF on his website.
And here is another (inexpensive) book that arrives at 587/86 bce for the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians. This book approaches the subject from a different direction than COJ's book. Theile puts together the chronologies of the Hebrew kings starting from the split in the kingdom down to Zedekiah and arrives at the same date as Jonsson. Combined, both books make the 587/86 conclusion beyond any doubt.

what have you not heard lately?.
.... no discussion on “babylon’s fall”.
by 1919 it was apparent that jehovah had passed judgment on christendom—and indeed on all false religion.
Marked (Thanks for your post Vanderhoven. I'll look it over. I've been of the c. 98 view. But this looks interesting.)
