US Letter Read Sunday 4/26 at Meeting - No KH Use and No Field Service Indefinitely
by JWTom inthere was a letter read sunday at our meeting that mentioned some parts of us are starting to open back up.
however, regardless of things opening up that no kingdom halls should be used for any meetings of any kind.
also, no door-to-door ministry or any form of in-person ministry is allowed.

My guess it would be a legal concern for the WT. They don't want anyone claiming they got sick on their property. I guess you can't blame them for that. Also they might know they have to make it very clear to prevent any over zealous elders from doing otherwise. Reading it to the whole congregation would prevent any elder from reinterpreting the directive.
The letter/announcement was read here too (SE USA). As it is, the authorities are not allowing any groups over 10 to meet in this area.

JW patient with covid-19 received blood transfusion
by adjusted knowledge ini had a patient admitted from a skilled nursing facility/rehab that is an active jw.
the patient had covid-19 as did most of the patients at that facility.
typically the local elders are all involved in these admissions but there is a strict no visitor policy which includes clergy.

AK,
Thanks for the discreet report. The WT recently sent a letter out reminding the R&F to have their DPA (aka no-blood card) up to date and to have all their physicians and elders with a copy. So I guess the WT is well aware of the potential in these circumstances.

Disunited States of America?
by jwleaks inrecognizing that their states have one integrated regional economy, delaware governor john carney, new york governor andrew m. cuomo, new jersey governor phil murphy, connecticut governor ned lamont, pennsylvania governor tom wolf, and rhode island governor gina raimondo today announced the creation of a multi-state council to restore the economy and get people back to work.
this announcement builds on the states’ ongoing regional approach to combatting the covid-19 pandemic.. the coordinating group – comprised of one health expert, one economic development expert and the respective chief of staff from each state — will work together to develop a fully integrated regional framework to gradually lift the states’ stay at home orders while minimizing the risk of increased spread of the virus.. https://news.delaware.gov/2020/04/13/governor-carney-and-five-governors-announce-multi-state-council-to-get-people-back-to-work-and-restore-the-economy/.

Keeping everyone on the hook
by hoser ini’ve always noticed that the local jw leaders like to give as little notice as possible for local meetings and expect you to drop everything and rearrange your life to fit their agenda in.
i’ve noticed this more during the pandemic.
we are not given the codes and time of memorial until a couple hours before meeting.

Some of it could also be the fact that the Zoom app seems to have some security issues. The letter from the WT to the elders about conducting Zoom meetings has a lot to say about handling disturbances during the meeting.
Keeping the meeting IDs secret until not too long before the meeting begins may be one step to lessen the possibility of hackers. Unless, of course, the 'hacker' is from within the fold.
Now whether the elders in any particular place have that strategy in mind, or, like was said, simply like to keep people in suspense, that is another issue.

Active JW's - Do you see a CONTRADICTION here?
by The Fall Guy inthe bible says this - acts 17:11 “...for they [the beroeans] accepted the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.”.
km 9/07 p. 3 question box - does “the faithful and discreet slave” endorse independent groups of witnesses who meet together to engage in scriptural research...?.
and yet, in various parts of the world, a few associates of our organization have formed groups to do independent research on bible-related subjects... some have pursued an independent group study...so as to analyze the accuracy* of the new world translation... for those who wish to do extra bible study and research, we recommend that they explore insight on the scriptures, “all scripture is inspired of god and beneficial,” and our other publications...” .

It's interesting how they condemn the 'extra-curricular' research efforts without actually condemning it.
It is presented as a sort of shocking discovery that the "F&DS" does not sanction or endorse. But it doesn't directly say not to do those things. To take it the way the WT wants the R&F to take it requires having the WT view of the "F&DS." They then add their own suggestions about what someone might otherwise do if they want to do 'research.'
People who do this outside research are described as "a few associates of our organization." The description sounds like some on the outside edge of "our organization," not really part of the mainstream of "our organization."
It is a carefully crafted piece of propaganda. I'll give 'em that much. And for the fully indoctrinated, it says it all.

Why doesn't the wt discuss the real reason many partake?
by nowwhat? init has nothing to do about feeling chosen or ruling in heaven, but rather many feel it's a command for all christians, that by partaking you are accepting christ as their saviour!

You got it right BB,
The WT avoids ever mentioning the real reason many are partaking: They (the partakers - at least some of them) are coming to the realization that it has nothing to do with a heavenly calling or being anointed. It has everything to do with Jesus commanding it to be done in remembrance of him, what he did. For the WT, this thinking is a poison to them because they have linked partaking to ruling. So that the more who partake (for the right reason), the more diluted their authoritarian position becomes. You can see their angst in the WT lesson yesterday.
The WT scrupulously avoids mentioning that particular option. They don't want it even discussed. They "frame" the argument by establishing the two sides to the argument: (1) The WT way, or (2) the mental problems or past erroneous religious beliefs. Those are the two sides to this problem that WT wants the R&F to see. As far as the WT is concerned, you are either on one side of the argument or the other. There is no third option. At least not as far as the WT is concerned. And the WT wants it to stay that way.
And they don't want the R&F asking those who partake for their reasons. Such questions risk letting the cat out of the bag and getting the R&F to start thinking. To start discussing this option without WT controlling the discussion will only lead to more people coming to the correct conclusion.
Surely they know that some are taking up this point of view. And you would think that if they saw this as just another erroneous position, that they would compose an article to refute it. But they don't. They scrupulously avoid even mentioning it (as the OP wondered, and as that 'framing' tract I linked to instructed). The WT not mentioning this particular idea is an evidence (from silence) that they are purposely using this strategy to keep that particular idea away from the R&F.
It's not all that different from the religious leaders in the 1st century not wanting anyone to converse with Jesus or his disciples. They were trying to contain the damage to their position. (Jn 11:47-50)
By NT standards, the GB have already condemned themselves as opponents of Jesus. (Rev 21:8; 22:15)
