A recent study suggests that Jehovah's Witnesses are on to something. — In the Archives of Internal Medicine, doctors from the Cleveland Clinic reported last month that Witnesses who underwent cardiac surgery without a blood transfusion fared better than non-Witnesses in terms of infection and complication rates, length of hospital stays and short- and long-term survival.

Although the study, which compared 322 patients of each group, focused only on cardiac surgery, many doctors report similar trends in orthopedic, gynecological and neurosurgery.

In 1962, Dr. Denton Cooley pioneered so-called bloodless open-heart surgery on Jehovah's Witness patients in Texas. Since then, the practice has evolved to the point that many surgeons, regardless of a patient's religious beliefs, try to minimize the loss of blood each time they stand over the operating table.

"We've taken what we have learned in the management of the Jehovah's Witnesses and are applying it to the general medical population as a whole," said Jan Seski, medical director of Allegheny General Hospital's Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery. "Blood in and of itself may be lifesaving. If you have a trauma patient that comes in after a motorcycle accident and they are bleeding to death, you need to use transfusions. But if you can avoid it, in some situations you will get a better outcome."

Jehovah's Witnesses refuse blood transfusions for religious reasons but many also fear the possibility of contracting blood-borne illnesses such as hepatitis or HIV/AIDS through transfusions.

There is not one specific methodology used when performing bloodless surgery. Hospitals take a "whole programmatic approach," Seski said, and they must adapt to the needs of the patient. Nonetheless, certain procedures are used to increase blood counts and to prevent blood loss before, during and after surgery.

Before surgery, doctors attempt to normalize the patient's blood count, as many are anemic. Patients who are anemic do not have enough healthy red blood cells, which are responsible for providing oxygen to body tissues.

Blood counts can be raised 1 gram per week by providing the patient with iron and synthetic growth hormones such as erythropoietin, which stimulate the bone marrow to produce red blood cells. The increased speed with which doctors can now boost blood counts to a safe level for surgery is especially significant, as patients with a malignancy are far better off when operated on sooner rather than later.

A hemodilution technique pioneered by Seski and others in 1977 at M.D. Anderson cancer center is one of a number of strategies used to save blood during surgery. It is a closed loop system that separates a patient's blood into red blood cells and clear plasma. The machine returns the plasma and a saline solution to the patient's body during surgery to equalize blood volume. The red blood cells are kept in the machine, however, and returned to the body at the end of surgery.

The postoperative care of a patient is also important, as blood can continue to be lost after a surgery is complete. Blood samples, for instance, can remove up to a pint per week. To minimize the loss, doctors now use pediatric tubes, drawing smaller amounts of blood while still gaining the necessary data from testing.

Smaller incisions have also reduced the amount of blood lost during surgery.

"We use a laparoscopic approach, and that allows us to really get folks up sooner out of bed because they are not having pain from a big incision," said Dr. James T. McCormick, who specializes in colorectal surgery. "If you keep the wound size small, then obviously there is less opportunity for there to be an infection."

The above link will give you the results of the search, "bilderberg", now if such Conspiracies do not exist or are just "theories" or just imaginations in our feeble minds for which we have no evidence, what on earth are Members of Parliament and Lords asking such questions about groups of powerfull men meeting secretly to conspire if such do not exist?

Cataloging the damage of the Watchower in my life

1. jehovah's witnesses interferance in my parents marriage leading to mother rejecting father who could not come at the teachings.. 2. my mother taking us 500km away from father to start a new life with a much older jw man just after armageddon didnt come in 75...for teaching us that he was evil and deserved to be killed by god.. 3. bullying at school for being a jw, resulting in only one friend all through school and learning little social interaction.

leading to leaving early with no education beyond year 10.. 4. marrying way to young for love?....

5. making me feel like a demon for being human.. 6. rejection by all friends and wife because i couldn't stick it.. 7. not going back to wife because of rejection, nervous breakdown by freeing wife and believing i was now doomed to die.. 8. almost leaving my childrens lives by both suicide and disapearing.. 9. wifes support by wt to force me out of their lives and for coaching her to do this.

My marriageable years given to the Watchtower, as I wasnt of the correct Caste I exited single, now forever on the shelf.

A broken heart, despite the faults of the religion, the Sisters were far prettier and well natured than any "worldly girl" I ever had the oppurtunity to meet, having lost my heart to one, I despair of ever finding a girl even half as nice in the outside world.

My lovely House in a lovely area, sold that to persue Kingdom Interests, now have a pokey flat I hate and price rises have put my previous life way out of reach.

Lots of money, I had standing orders to contribute to two congreagations, but thats debateable if it counts as "treasures in Heaven, as I did feel I was donating to God, so the thought was there.

Some very valuable and rare Motorcycles I sold when I became a dub.

Apart from that, I did gain a lot from my dubbery.

Gruesome Harvest by Ralph Franklin Keeling

A 1947 account of the Wests "Morganthau Plan", the deliberate attempt by the Victorious western powers to kill every single German man, woman and child by starvation, after the Second World War had ended.

It was only on realising the oppurtunity open to Communism to look like the good guys that made the allies turn completely around and impliment the Marshall Plan, but not after between 8 and 15 million civillians had been murdered.

Hitler wasnt the only one to have a Holocaust.

Doesnt that site with its additional "spiritual food" and its testimonies of private baptisms make all those "Annointed" ripe for disfellowshipping?

Maybe the society should just come out and disfellowship all the annointed so they dont get any such annoyances as Brother Franz coming up with New Light that doesnt harmonise with their doctrines of men.

In view of the delay in Jesus second coming, the scripture where the evil slave beats his fellow slave because his master is delayed in coming, comes to mind.

What do you mean by "critical thinking skills"?, I would have thought the very term would have backed up our side of the discussion, the ability to not just belive whet some with an agenda tell us, but to seek out alternative views and see if they fit in with the pattern of the world. Perhaps you could give some examples of what you mean?

I have too many books to spend my time searching through to do your research, and same as SnowQueen, it matters not to me really what you wish to belive, I just like to share the fact that their is another side to history that we are not told about, and to give you a few pointers to show you an alternative route you might wish to travel.

For instance, all I just did was google Churchill Gambling, and I came up with such as the above pro-Churchill link that confirms he was a gambler who had debts, so theres the first step for you, its easy if you want to.

Whilst I cannot write a whole book here and the historical references of such, I will give you a few snippets that if you are genuinely interested, rather than just wishing to maintain the current world view you have been indoctrinated with, you can do further research at your own time and expense, for there are indeed lots of history books that back SnowQueens claims.

The first world war wasnt "won" by Britain and her allies by millitary means, but by deciept. A laying down of arms was suggested called the Armastice and the 14 point plan, Germany laid down her arms first, but then, and as we did with the Arabs over Palestine, we decieved Germany and as soon as She was unarmed, we didnt uphold our part of the bargain with the 14 point plan, but imposed the horrific Treaty of Versaillies on her, which incidently, the likes of David Lloyd George and I belive Woodrow Wilson claimed was far too harsh and would lead to the problems it did.

It was reported by David Lloyd George that 120 international bankers ruled over the proccedings at Versaillies, "with the absolute authority of Monarchs" rev 17 v v 18.

One result of the treaty of Versaillies is the huge proportion of Germany that was taken from her and given to surrounding nations whilst still inhabitated by Germans, West Prussia being given to Poland a prime example, if you go on Amazon and search for the book, "Orphans of Versaillies" by Richard Blanke you will find a source of reference showing Polands delberate ethnic cleansing methods of West Prussia to drive the Prussians out so it could be taken over purly by Poles, I see this book, which I have, now costs £71 second hand so wouldnt expect you to purchace it.

What I can report is that My family, on my Fathers side, is West Prussian, and personaly experienced being driven out by the Poles and losing our Horse farm. Later on, the persecution got worst and worst until manifesting itself in the form of murder and a certain government official, calling for the castration of all German men in order to rid Poland of what was now an ethnic minority.

All the above however, whilst giving Hitler a good and legitimate excuse to invade Poland, was not used, in fact he volunteered accepting the new borders and letting Poland keep West Prussia, all he wanted from Poland was a rail route to East Prussia, and the free city of Danzig, which was 98% German, to be allowed to rejoin Germany, oh, and he wanted a treaty with Poland against the threat of Russia and communism.

However, on the allies side, we have this, Winston Churchill, and Lord Halifax, stating as far back as 1933 that Germany must be destroyed before it becomes too powerfull, you could buy yourself a book on Churchills speeches to see who the driving force behind WW2 was.

International Jewry declared war on Germany in 1933, Google "Jews declare war on Germany".

Churchill, who was outspokenly anti-semetic as the rest of them, certainly switched sides once a Jewish banker paid off his gambling debts.

Now Poland, which was described by one British historian as a Canary that keeps trying to eat two cats, (Germany and Russia), has notions of the establishment of a greater Poland going all the way to Berlin, Britain, France and America gave assurances to Poland that if there was ever military action between Germany and Poland, Britian would give Poland a "blank cheque", Poland then, armed with such backing and the overconfidence in her own military, was used by the West to push Hitler into the war that he didnt want, and tried on numerous occassions to avoid, but that the West did want.

Poland, in order to provoke war, was blockading and starving the people of Danzig, they gave Germany the warning that if she even tried to provide food for Danzig, it would be taken as millitary action and lead to war.

Like I say, I cannot write a book here, but there is enough material to do so, all pointing to the same group of people who do not want any country to grow strong that they do not control.

You can see the West using exactly the same tactics now on the Middle East where they arm insurgents in Libya and Syria, encourage them to attack their governments, and then use said governments defence as an Propogander device as the excuse to go to war and take yet another country under the control of the international bankers or Babylon the Great.
