My Baptism Story
by DT ini have been thinking about how the events surrounding my baptism may be of some interest to this board, so here is my story.. i began to talk about baptism when i was seven, but nobody took me seriously.
i let the matter drop until i was ten.
i was persistent this time so arrangements were made for the elders to go over the questions with me.. at the time, it was customary for baptismal candidates to study the live forever and united in worship books.

I was baptized young and experienced similar stories as you. I remember feeling guilty as the pioneer sisters laughingly and lovingly allowed me to "lead" them.
Someone dropped the ball on letting you know you qualified. When you got into trouble you could have mentioned your baptism was probably not valid.
You willfully disassociated yourself or did you get disfellowshipped?

Recovery claims to be a pioneer. This clears up many things. Recovery is probably a recluse or shut in whos eccentricities have alienated him from the congregation. How much easier it is to sit behind the computer and self generate hours of "service" with debatable bombshells of doctrine.
Well done Recovery. I knew many pioneers that were never at the meeting for feild service on any day of the week. I loved the ministry but it would drive me crazy wondering how they achieved their service hours so easily when I never saw them sharing in the door to door ministry with others of us who were pioneering or taking the lead as shepherds. Not once would they check out territory cards like the rest of their fellow pioneers.
Perhaps you suffer from a disability or are advanced in age and that prevents you from engaging in the "field ministry" How clever of you to enter a pit of vipers where you can charm them with a flute and continue to log in hours and hours of meaningless debate. All so you can lay hold to your claim of special service.
By your very actions in dancing with this forum you show your disregard for the direction of the Faithful and Discreet Slave.
You may justify your rhetoric as defending "the truth" but that truth has already reserved a spot for you in everlasting cutting off. It is only a matter of time before Jehovah excises you like the blasphemous cancer you display with your words and actions.

Imagine a brother or a sister knocking on a door of a poster here who has printed all of your major arguments and all of the hurtful and sarcastic comments you have made and shown them to our brothers.
Which clearly illustrates the fact that any active Jehovah's Witness would clearly recognize and categorize Recovery as an "apostate" regardless of his apologist stance and rhetoric.
Recovery justifies his participation here as making a defense for his faith but in doing so he clearly states his disregard for the basic premise of following the leadings of Jehovah, Jesus and the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class.
Recovery has constituted himself as a dissenter and disbeliever in the authority of the very religion he strives so diligently to defend here. It is pitiable.
He is completely lost and wasting his time defending his personal belief system when that personal belief system has already judged him and cut him off.
Poor Recovery, if armeggedon was to come this very day, according to the religion he so passionately defends, he is going to be first in line for EVERLASTING destruction.
How does he live with himself? (Or herself I suppose.)

It was highly enjoyable for my non JW family and my 4 children. It was theraputic for me and them. As a born in I felt I was recapturing some of the childhood I lost. I also enjoyed watching current JWs drive by my home rubbernecking at the decorations with disgust and jealousy at the same time. Its funny, the holidays are pretty lame when scrutinized and dissected, but let me tell you, the laughter and happiness and joy expressed by children at these occasions is all that matters. To me. It is a joy upon little faces that I promise you I have never seen in the years I spent as a Watchtower Clone. I did it for my children but found it was even more beneficial for myself. If it is a question of guilt, no, I felt no guilt. But I had spent 40 years developing a resistance to the effects of guilt at the hands of a very indoctrinated mother and others.

Eric, you handled yourself with intelligence, forethought, and dignity. You were also respectful and moving.
You reached those men in a profound way. You gave them an experience that more than likely they will never have again and it will last in their mind until their deaths. Sharing these videos is going to have monumental effects on hundreds, maybe thousands because of your efforts to make it so.
The prayer at the end given by you was such a pleasant surprise and was the golden moment and the perfect conclusion to your epic journey in the "star chamber"
Thank you again for what you have made available for the world to see.

when using JW literature in a court setting......
by outsmartthesystem insuch as the "school brochure" and the "mentally diseased apostates" mag.........do you need to have original copies?
or will a copy and paste straight from the cd rom work?
.

If you are at trial and the documentation has been allowed for exhibit, actual copies will be more compelling. If you are at hearings or mediation, your copies will be adequate for discussion and examination. Be extremely selective on what you use and how you use it if you reach a settlement hearing. Attacks on religious practices and beliefs specifically regarding the upbringing of children seldom go very far with senior lawyers, commisioners or judges. Unless, of course, you can prove those practices are not in the best interests of the child. A task that can be extremely difficult in front of a Mediator or Judge that may or may not be having a bad day. Religion should be the last line of defense or attack IMO.

Fb status of a Young JW Mom. Sooo Sick!
by 3dogs1husband incan't believe that we made it through the whole assembly, **** wasn't feeling good last night, has a cold, was pretty cranky, then he seemed fine and minutes later im making a bowl with my hands for him to throw up in while we are sitting (the joys of parenthood) then into a plastic bag, then very quickly ran to the bathroom for even more throwing up, but suprisingly we stayed for the rest of the day.
trying to think of a response.
i am not "out" on fb soooo sick from this i wanna throw up myself...poor children!.

Bobbi, malls are really fun for kids especially with the bribes of ice cream and train rides. Meetings still suck for kids no matter what bribes used to get them there. Sheesh give em a break when they get sick at least. No wonder more and more JWs are losing custody for "negligence". When meeting attendance takes precedence over health, homework and happiness, it's easy for social workers to do their work in the best interests of children. Don't drink the kool aid.

That sounds like the post of a JW mom who feels she must play the part of the martyr by faithfully getting her children to the assembly despite the fact that they are sick so that she can show she can do it alone and without help from dad. It is a post that screams for attention, pity, and affirmation that what she is doing is the "right thing" for her and her child(ren). Unfortunately for JW moms and dads that post about their spiritual accomplishments on Facebook, it really only displays that they are lonely and neglected and nobody in their congregations really care about them or their struggle to keep dragging those kids to meeting hell or high water. Posting is a way for them to reach out to their FB friends and say "Hey look at me, please send some praise and reasurrance that I am being recognized for doing the little that I am in a spiritual sense."
Eventually she will realize nobody cares, and single moms who do little or nothing in furthering kingdom interests by field service and meeting attendance/participation are really just deadwood and a burden for the BOE.
Again, children's best interests being cast aside for the more important narcissistic parent's agenda.
