Of course you do realize that she will tell others that "he didn't want to discuss this further because he couldn't argue against the significance of it." Well, probably that's her take on it. Unreal ain't it.

For the past year or so, I only make comments at the meeting on neutral, general issues, i.e. how we show christian love, what Jesus' example teaches us, etc... NEVER do I refer to what the "slave" says or do I ask for Jah's blessing on the FDS or GB in my prayers. I am sure the shrewd ones must be wondering about me already. Within a few months I will be so "out o there" it won't matter anymore!

Well, evidently this nonsense is making the rounds. A "sister" called my office today for her personal business but before ending the conversation she said 'What do think about these elections? Interesting times indeed, the end has to be close with a black being the favored candidate to win the election and the fact that it the was first time in history that a woman came so close blah blah blah' Mind you she is not in the same congregation as the elder mentioned at the begining of this thread.

I said, "England had Margaret Thatcher, Germany has Angela Merkel, I don't think it would be a big deal if Hillary would have clinched the nomination. Regardless of whether a black man or a woman became president, it would still be an American democracy, not a different form of government."

She said ' yeah, but it still is unprecedented and the fact that the US is the LAST world power this has to be very significant!!'

Not wishing to waste my time discussing a moronic issue, I said "sorry, but I have a lot of work to do, talk to you lalter."

I gave up. You cannot fight circular reasoning!

This statement totally came out of left field- Although he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, he is usually coherent- I think the desperation of these old timers in the "truth" is getting to them. They cannot fathom the "end" not coming in their lifetime. It's actually quite sad and pathetic.

Why I will NEVER be an elder again

so the po confirmed what many on this board already know.

at latest round of co to elders meeting, the co quoted from the society outline.

any elder or ms who encourages college for his kids or others or who allows his children to go to college will no longer qualify.. he then asked if i was going to take the cos encouragement and reach out again to be an elder and get my hours on the ministry up.. i replied "i will never be an elder again - i strongly approve of further education and college and have been through college myself.

No "in writing" direction was given. It was only orally delivered during the elders meeting with the CO.
