Your loss!! Ang Lee is one of the "maestros" in cinema today, probably one of the BEST directors in cinema history. To offer opinions without having seen the movie is just pure nonsense! This movie is not a "gay" movie, it brings to life a beautiful human love story about two people who happen to discover they are gay, portrayed by a very talented cast, with minimal emphasis on sex. Some people have mentioned how it grosses them out to think about two men or two women having sex, well this movie is not graphic by any stretch of the imagination, actually the scenes of "intimate" contact are very tastefully carried out, but of course, it's ANG LEE directing! So if your mind goes into the gutter while watching the movie, it's your own fault.

i just heard from back home (puerto rico), about this elder i know (i was good friends with his daughter), that just got df'd for homosexuality.

this is how the story goes:

he was an elder for over 20 years and he even claimed to be of the "annointed class'.

merry christmas all on christmas eve my partner and i visited her mom for christmas and for the first time in 5 years i went to a religious service.

it was at peace lutherin church in sioux falls, south dakota.

keeping to topic, the marqee stated four service arrangments starting at 3:30pm, 5pm (which we went to had 400 +/_ in attendance), 6:30, and 10pm.

I went to my first ever Christmas Eve Mass yesterday with someone who at this point in my life, I consider to be one of my best friends. What a beautiful church!! I must admit that upon entering the church and taking my seat, I pondered on all the beautiful artwork, statues and stained glass windows and a very peacful and tranquil feeling came over me. I thought the services were absolutely beautiful! CONTRARY to Watchtower propaganda, Catholics DO KNOW their Bibles and their religious services are based in the Bible. There was a reading from Isaiah, Titus and Luke, and guess what? The reverend actually was able to give very concise, practical counsel on how Christians can benefit from Christ's teachings. I thoroughly enjoyed listening and singing along with the choir to my favorite Christmas Caroles, "Come All Ye Faithful", "Silent Night" and "Joy to the World". After all these years of having to be alone in my car, or taking a seat in a mall during the Christmas season in order to enjoy hearing these masterpieces, I was able to enjoy them with a live orchestra and truly angelic voices from the choir. Although Im still in this God forsaken organization for the same reasons as others in this community, I look forward to the time, hopefully in the near future, when I can explore freely, without having to look over my shoulder, all that is out there in this world's marvelous variety of religous cultures which thank God, will not be going away anytime soon!

please send letters to stephen bates requesting an article on this issue.

many of you may not see immediately how important this matter is.

beyond the other legal ramifications, i.e, the wts lying about secular info., intentional deception, etc., the blood issue is a huge one.

Approximately 5 years ago a JW mother in my congregation died at age 38 while giving birth to her 2nd child because of complications arising out of volumous blood loss. She would have been saved with a transfusion. She left her 3 yr old and newborn without their mother because of an erroneous interpretation of scripture by the FDS. Approximately 11 years ago, a JW in one of my former congregations died at the age of 14. He was born with hemophilia, he died because his parents adhered to the erroneous interpretation of scripture by the FDS.

I concur!!! From the information available about Barbara I have concluded that she is a very sincere and honest christian. I applaud her boldness in standing up for what is right and just, eventhough it cost her her relationship with her son. I have not been able to acquire the fortitude to make my stand public yet. I have relatives who are currentlly serving in branches in other countries as well as parents who are VERY active, dad is PO, mom a regular pioneer for over 25 yrs etc...I too continue to serve as an elder eventhough at this point I have lost ALL faith in the validity of The Watchtower with it's numerous corporations, being The Way. I hope to soon, very soon be able to finally make my exit without regrets.

recently i was told that the society has major holdings in companies such as northrup grumman, rayetheon and lockhead martin.

i know rumors are rampant, but how does one get legitimate stats on holdings?
