If you do return you will confirm that there is no where else to go except back to a man made religion.

It's kind of like magic spells. If you believe they work, then they will but if you do not believe in spells they will not work. So, stop believing that the jws have power over your life. Bad things will happen to you if you're in the organisation or not. Being in the jws just distract you and give you false hope. That is why it seems that life was so much better inside the religion, because you were kept distracted by the carrot dangling in front of your face.
You shouldn't go back, because religion will never make you or your life better. It is you and you alone that will do all of the work to create a happy and successful life for yourself.
You should not go back because the congregation does not have a genuine interest in you, it is a waste of time reading pages of literature. You could take a yoga class or study something that will actually help you. You will lose a lot of money spending on keeping up appearances, fueling the car, donating to the organization. They view you as weak for leaving in the first place.
THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, ONLY THEMSELVES.

Telephone Conversations Today with 2 Elders Re: Shunning - Or Not?
by abbasgreta inmy alcoholic and aged jw mother is now extremely ill and is being cared for in every respect by my non-jw brother.
3 sisters visited him yesterday and were adamant.
that i (disassociated and shunned by her for nearly 3 years) was able to 'visit her any time' and that ' there was nothing to stop me seeing her' as long as i. didn't discuss spiritual things with her.

Elders are always trying to lighten the load off of the congregation, by dropping those physically and mentally "weak".

The Only Time JWs Make Contact
by naazira ini've realised that the only time jws make contact with me is during memorial season, and at the start of the new service year.
they always try to talk more in the beginning of the service year.
as the pioneer sister always said "start off strong, and get a lot of hours early.

It makes me laugh at how excited the jws become when they are doing the convention campaign. I agree it is a big joke, the distance many have to travel is ridiculous!

So when do jws make contact with you?

"Go Where the Need is Great" - Is this phrase unique to JW's only???
by AudeSapere in"go where the need is great"... it's one of those jw buzz-words/phrases.
almost like a secret code that just pops up in what would otherwise be a 'normal' conversation.. .
i was conducting an interview with a candidate this afternoon and she used this phrase when explaining that she travelled to various locations of a previous employer.

I know non jws who use this phrase. It is more so used in relief and charity work.

A new member
by LP97 ini'm a 17 year old from scotland.
can i just say this site is absolutely brilliant.
finally found people with open minds and free thought that doesn't just consist of "well the wt told me this so it must be right".. my story is that i'm just like any other child of a jw...brought up into a life of indoctrination where "the world's" thinking is automatically wrong.. that is until i was 14 - a light turned on in my head.

I Offer You This Choice
by simon17 insuppose the following choice were offered you, and you had to choose one or the other.
which would you pick (and perhaps why):.
1) you can continue living your life as it is, die when you might, and that's that.. 2) you can instead agree to die in 1 year in exchange for this: you will be granted access to the entire past and future history of intelligent life in the universe.

I would choose #1. What good is it to know everything about everything, and not be able to share it with others? The knowledge that I would acquire would die with me. How will this knowledge help me? Yeah, it may give me peace of mind (or cause distress)- but then what? I choose to stay ignorant, and die when my number is called.
