I'd definitely reply to her message. Maybe just be cool and unfazed with her saying: "oh thanks for the heads up! I have also become very decisive and closer to Jehovah than I have ever been. Jehovah gives us so much hope for the future doesnt he? And I love you more take care!" 💝
This will show her that you arent the one with the problem, and that you are fine with losing contact.

Look into the seventh day Adventists. They're very similar to the witnesses and observe the sabbath. You seem very intelligent, keep coming back.

i'm currently going through a bout of depression and my eating disorder has gotten worse.
ever since my parents actually told me that they are going to kick me out when i turn 18 i've felt kind of hopeless about my life.
my parents won't take me to the doctor because the psychiatrists won't have my "best interests" aka jw crap in mind, because really that's the root of all my problems.. i'm wondering if any of you guys have any advice with dealing with depression?
I definitely wouldn't wait until 18 to start making moves. Now that you are under 18 there are lots of options available to you: take advantage of it (group homes, adolescent counseling, youth job placement). If you can somehow get to an emergency room you're half way there. Look up a united way number or equivalent. Best wishes and take baby steps. You're going to love the life you created for yourself.

i find it interesting how stories of people waking or bringing one out are like the opposite of jw experiences bringing one in.

hello all, things for the most part have been somewhat better for me because my parents haven't talked about baptism or anything recently.
i got a scholarship to go to art camp for a few weeks which has been fun (since its free, my parents didn't refuse) but it has also been very nervewracking for me.
i haven't been around any non jws for more than a year and its like being in a different world, a world where people are actually real and genuine and not mindless drones.
Just make friends exchange emails, etc. I figure if you can be on this site, then email should be fairly easy. You CAN be friends, you just wont be able to meet up; due to your parents decision NOT YOURS. You are telling them that you can't be their friend because of religion; I think it would be easier for them to understand if you were to say your parents are strict. Yet, you will still make the effort to reach out to them.
