  Vidiot, IMHO encouraging them to come forward tothe elders would be a CYA move. The elders could then infer , but of course not use the words, to let Jehovah take care of it, to "heal yourself" by forgiveness and going forward with your life instead of reporting to the authotities and all the life /time/emotional difficulties that go along with that. It IS hard emotionally to procecute, but that is not the objective here as we know. To convince the victim, and the victims family, to let the elders and the WT handle the problems and "punish" the offender accordingly would reduce the chances of those higher numbers coming out to the authorities.

  Of course, they will have some people who will go to the authroities, and then the WT can say "look, see that we have been doing this". But many victims/families will get the strong inferring that it is 'more spiritual and trusting" to allow the elders and the orgainzation/Jehovah take care of it.

  " i asked.. no, disaster preparedness course (or something like that) at the kingdom hall.. is this new?

  It figures that they are puching for those "go bags" again.

  I think this has been brought up occasionally for years. Am I correct?

  But a class is definity meant to instill fear. In no way will this be a class about how to keep preperations, have a generator, for a week in case of a natural disaster, power outage etc.

  Parenting through seperation

  hi everyone, was hoping i could share my experience, read other people's, and perhaps receive some advice regarding parenting through seperation.. so my wife of 8 odd years, and mother to my 3 children (8,6,3) and i have separated.

  largely due to our differences not just with religion but all areas of life.

  the breakup was amicable, and we remain somewhat friendly to one another while we work all this out.

  Begin teaching about high control religions/organizations. Teach them the red flags and why such high control is a very dangerous thing.

  Teach them about learning from more than one source to get a balanced, true, viewpoint to base a decision, and that high control religions/organizations will try to make them believe that is a bad thing to do.

  You have a looong road ahead.

  Actually you should go ahead and divorce. Then get a court agreement as to you having them equal amounts of time, and during your time the children do not attend the meetings.The break from the indoctrination is very important.

  If You Criticize A Person of Color Are You A Racist?

  seriously, it’s getting to a point that you can’t make a negative comment about someone without being charged as a racist, homophobe or sexist!

  if you criticize a female, you are obviously sexist.

  if you criticize someone who happens to be gay, you must hate homosexuals.

  Actually, "the squad" has defined any critiscism of thier ideas as racist/sexist.

  Just two weeks ago a manager at the place where I am employed criticised a black man in the same way he criticises the white men in the warehouse for not doing the job they were asked to do. However, the black man called him a racist and white supremacist for doing so to him.

  The intolerance of criticisim is the problem here.

  If I hesitate to legetimatly criticize the actions of someone, just because of the color of thier skin, gemder ec, I would be racist,sexist, etc.

  Any color skin, gender etc., is equally subject to the same critisism.

  Now to use the labels that were created to be disparaging, is wrong. To use labels at all, such a descriptive ones, I do not believe are wrong. Today's society has hijacked many honest, descriptive labels as disparaging. and blaming those who use them as using "hate speech" and then ( gasp) LABELING them as racist, secist etc.,. It reeks of 1984's "newspeak" and thought police.

  just got a phone call this morning from a very upset anointed brother.

  he said he didn't believe me when i told him about the pedo problem and selling off of halls.

  he said he was disgusted with the watchtower and had to go to a special meeting last night.

  If we could travel at light speed, would travel be 'instantaneous' for us??

  we know that as you approach the speed of light, time slows down, if you were in a spaceship, time goes by quicker on earth.

  we also know that distances between planets and such are measured at 'light years'.

  i had this article pop up about the darksilver case.

  it says a federal magistrate in san francisco has now ruled that darksilver can remain anonymous but then it says except for identification to lawyers for the religion’s watchtower publication.

  ah yes, Monica Applewhite, the expert ( and Catholic) witness for the WT that was not given full disclosure information before she got up to give her expert testimony, and changed her opinion while on the stand to say the WT is in the wrong! HAhahaha classic WT arrogance and ineptitude..
