Seeking advice

i'm not a jw, nor was i raised jw.

for the past three years i have been involved with a man who was raised jw, who at first told me he no longer believed as they did, but who, it has become clear over time, has not told his family or religious community the truth.

he has strung me along for years, never introduced me to anyone in his life.

Miz, I'm in your shoes, only I didn't find out about the real cult truth until years into our marriage and having a child.

I must say, as wonderful of a person you think he is, DO NOT PURSUE THIS. He is mentally in. That is a deal breaker. Take it from someone now living the hell of being the "worldly person". My marriage has multiple issues, but many of them, ( the major ones) are a cause of his emotional stunting from the upbringing in the cult.

Walk ( fast) away and remind yourself, you do not deserve a life of these constant issues the JW mindset brings. After 15 years of hoping and trying; giving it my best, I am worn down. I asked my husband to move out a couple weeks ago.

i was on facebook and a person i have known for a long time posted how trump is mentally ill and is truly a psychopath.

a couple of her friends chimed in when i suggested that perhaps the fb friend was really the psychopath.

a couple of her friends began to defend her but i was surprised by how many people defended the president!

do you support free choice to wear a political hat or article of clothing?

if someone wants to put a bumper sticker on their car in support of a political candidate or party, should they be able to do it without fear of being maligned or abused?

In addition to the red Maga Hat, how about Actress Deborah Messing's call to Hollyood to "out" anyone in the entertainment industry who is a Trump supporter, so the industry ( and public) can blackball them. ( This is the ridiculous McCarthy era all over again!)

Head Coverings for Women

watchtower's ignorance around the historical background to many biblical directives has had a very negative effect on the lives of witnesses.. for instance paul said women should cover their heads because in corinth prostitutes walked the streets plying for business with their heads uncovered.

hence head coverings were never a symbol of headship but a directive very specific to that period, as was the blood directive!!.

watchtower leaders have been lawyers, businessmen, civil servants and door-to-door book salesmen, never, ever historians or biblical scholars.

My own personal view was that due to the woman having naturally given a head covering, that they were too wear the scarves to lower themselves among the angels. Since women are above the angels, and this was an act of humility.

Real Estate / Legal Question re: KH Sales / Title Transfers

sorry about being a bit lazy and not researching this myself but when there is a real estate sale, as far as i know, this is public information and on record ( at least in most areas i am aware of).. a kh sale would be a public record.. but when a real title is transferred, isn't this public information also?

.

i ask this question because there seems to be some questions here that the publishers did not know the title of their kh had been transferred to the big borg.. any thoughts on this.. rub a dub.

Well the congregation still owns the one my MIL goes to , so far. It's in a bad area of town ( High Crime)

Her previous congregation for 30+ years was first drained of the money saved for a new hall, the property donated was taken ( likely sold by now) and her congregation was eventually merged into the new one.

Interestingly, the one she went to for a little while, her sisters congregation, are also still listed as the owners of the property. Hmm... They are getting a new hall built currently, though. It will be interesting to see how that property is listed.

you are starting to know me by now as i’m always full of questions... my clogs are always in motion and never stop... so another question for you to give me some guidance if you can.

based on pasts experience or cases you might heard of or seen, what advice could you give me in helping someone that is a jehovah witness, married with another jw but lives a marriage that is plagued by emotional domestic abuse and financial control?

just a side note, the verbal and physical abuse did not happen in my marriage until my husband began studies and "put on a new personality.

Even though he has not been back to studies or the hall for years now, the "toothpaste has been squeezes out of the tube." He crossed the critical, previously forbidden line of verbal and physical abuse, so it is now something he continues ( of course blaming me for his behavior) ,

BTW he is in the process of moving out at my insistence. No divorce talk yet, but separation

Dr. Munr Kazmir criticized Rubin for being "completely against policies she herself had championed for seemingly no other reason than Trump being in favor of them".

Quite simply, she is an emotional "Never Trumper" that will turn against support on anything if Trump supports it. She is an emotional thinker. Hm, isn't that what a cult mind does, think in emotional terms instead of factual and rational ones?

She needs to document everything, with dates and times, but put any writings etc, in a safe place away from the husband. Write a diary of events, of stresses, of impacts, of the shoving etc. Maybe she can give the diarys to you, to keep safe from her husband. She needs to keep receipts as much as she can of his spending on himself.

Then if she gets up the courage to have him removed from the house, even if just a separation, she will have what a judge wants to see. proof.
