I am one of those that Joe134cd describes.I turned up here for lifeline support.
It is a massively heartbreaking and extremely difficult experience that cannot properly be described in words.
I wish that on no one, ever.
i am so sick of this cult, this religion has such a grip on her.
since i left in 2014, things just are getting progressively worse.
and she it's just getting deeper and deeper.

2020 the society will continue to have financial problems with massive pay outs because of their lack of protecting their young people from a religion that harbors thousands of pedophiles.
thus this and other religions that has an 1800's mentality will continue to lose their young people.
with the religion's lies easily found on the internet the smart ones will continue to leave in droves.
Only hindsight has 2020 vision.
The Watchtower is a perfect example of that.
hello forum.
my aunt, flyinghighnow, has passed away.
i don't know if you remember her, but she was a long time member.
I remember her fondly.
She had comforting posts for me.
I am so very, very sorry to hear of her death. May peace and comfort be with her family and friends.
you used to hear christmas music blaring on every radio station.
not anymore.
people used to jam the roadways and malls to do their christmas shopping and now it’s no big deal.
On;line shopping has relieved some of the crowds. But Christmas is every bit as special as it used to be.
It is about family being together in most people's celebrations, then gift giving to make it even more special. Having Christ in Christmas has been reducing in my observation, but the importance of being together on Christmas is alive and well.
Finding a person who will be alone on Christmas is important for many to be able to invite them over to share the celebration.
Volunteering and donating is higher during the Christmas season. ( I forgot my source for this)
However, you are quite correct that it is increasingly politically incorrect to say "Merry Christmas". In business it is considered necessary to wish Happy Holidays.
i have been putting together a legacy box ( these are local guys that created this huge company by the way) and getting my jw in laws old 35mm slides put together with bar codes to ship off for them to be digitized and returned.
curiously, the box of 25 slides that had some from the 1975 assembly had the whole batch of assembly slides missing from the box!
i am so curious if they destroyed them!

Curiously, the box of 25 slides that had some from the 1975 assembly had the whole batch of assembly slides missing from the box! Like 8 or 10 of them.
I am so curious if they destroyed them! There are some slides loose in the box that will have digitized without a title label for the thumb drive. I wonder if it is in those loose slides. I will immediately get them out and look at therm when they arrive.
as jehovah’s witnesses, we were regularly told how awful a college education is.
i’m no longer associated with the religion but i am not so pro university.
it’s not because i think you are better off without a degree.
A well rounded education is necessary for a good education. Yes, the specialties are needed, but not to the exclusion of learning about history, government, science, math, English. They all come into play in your life regardless of what you eventually choose to focus your studies on.
That being said, a determined person can get that well rounded education without attending a college class. Reading, and traveling, working and learning to lead are all things that can get you a well rounded education without attending the university. It takes a LOT of self determination, goal setting, hard work, and time.
at 95 , queen elizabeth is one sharp lady.
she lauded those people that helped break up a terrorist attack.
she didn’t take any crap from prince andrew and told him to take a hike.
I'm thoroughly enjoying the netflix series "The Crown" about the Queen,
you may wonder what my stance on christmas is now that i'm not a jobo.. well, i am santa.
yes, i know, hard to believe....and you thought i didn't exist.. here is the proof......... https://www.youtube.com › watch.
i'm miming for this polish singer beti gie (beata).
Great! I really like the song too.
i was a jw from infancy.
we had a melting pot type of congregation.
i grew up with all types of witnesses , all with different backgrounds.
"I know of some black people who look down on other blacks because they weren’t so black "
exactly, my daughter in law has had that problem. She has many black features, her father very dark skinned, but she has green eyes, and her curly hair can be tamed to wear straighter. She has been dissed by both races of her parents.
She is also gorgeous, with an outstanding voice.
yeah, so the candace owens show is apparently in london and douglas murray is the person interviewed.. they cover a range of topics that are current and connected to murray's new book (the madness of crowds: gender, race and identity).. i've not got his new book but it seems to be good.
owens and murray both make good points and it's a joy to listen to them together.. enjoy .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4o9yqrby9q.
Government social programs that monetarily penalize women and children if she is married, and reward unmarried women for having more children, is a huge marriage destabilizer. It is also a huge problem for boys growing into men that feel useless, because that is how that portion of welfare society is guided to think. It is a systemic government dependence cycle.( Also guaranteed votes for a specific party.)
