  RC Church - Originated when ? Spiritually Strong Ones please.

  been doing a bit of research trying to tie in together a few different strands.. not too sure what happened to christianity and how organised religion took hold again after the apostles died off.. i know jerusalem was sacked 70 ce.

  but lots to fill in from that point onwards to bring us to where we are today.. if a few peeps could help to condense and simplify the info down into a few bite size pieces it would give us a starting point to begin to re-educate ourselves to the truth.

  and fill in the blanks.

  I have been doing some very interesting studies about the origions of the early churches. I read of Paulenes of the eastern orthodox Churchs, and the origional Coptic Christians in Egypt and Jordan. Also the Western Church which was eventually was the Roman Church. All catholic as in the "universal sense" as well as Catholic in the Church beliefs. They did have some differences, and these did cause many dissents over the centuries. It is facinating to try to learn and distinguish all these differences, why there were differences and what they were about.

  I found the JW beliefs are aryan, which in the early centuries were considered heritic becaue they did not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ.

  Then th great reformation which came about with the former Catholic Martian Luther and it was boiling down to salvation by faith lone ( Luthers belief) , vs salvation by works along with faith, from which prodtestantism found its birth.

  I am only just beginning these studies, so I have a lot to learn but it is facinating.

  Um The RC Church considers Holy Thursday of extremely high iportance. It is te observance of the last supper, the passover whenre Jesus offers himself as the sacrificial lamb.

  "Except for the resurrection on Easter, Holy Thursday is possibly one of the most important, complex, and profound days of celebration in the Catholic Church." - CNA

  However, Holy Thursday ( part of an entire week of observances) has not been secularized with the Easter Bunny etc., so you must have missed that one.

  Hmmm, Caffiene is an addictive drug. So is alochol. And what about antidepressants? Some of those are extrmely addictive and I am hearing that a huge number of JW use those addictive substances.

  This list should wake up at least a FEW thinking JWs, SERIOUSLY! This is so absurd.

  In the earlier WT days, wasn't the slogan by Rutherford, " Religion is a snare and a racket"? Religion for a long time was considred a "bad word". Organization was the proper word, not religion.

  remember a while back when the wtbts wanted more money to bring home missionaries?

  i have been looking for that thread to no avail.

  anyway, each and every kh that adopted that resolution is contributing a good deal of money to the wtbt$ based on the amount of publishers.

  A dating website is very different. There is no pressure not to report to the police in order to protect the dating website. The WT pressures victims and their families to protect the "organization. The JW understood duty is to to go to the elders before going to the police. The elders councel and the JW are supposed to obey the elders. If the elders said they would handle it and to " wait on Jehovah" this is a far cry from a dating website.The elders are counceled in writing not to tell people not to go to the police, but they are strongly encouraged to try to convice them to " wait on Jehovah" and let them handle it.

  The dating website has NO power, and no emotional, social, or spiritual control, and no after the fact advice for the people who might be, or who are, harmed.

  Is the WTBTS Responsible for What Attendees Do After an Assembly?

  the wtbts claims that the organizers of events such as a congregation picnic or a party are responsible for what the attendees do after the event has ended.

  example: if several people meet and engage in 'fornication' afterwards, the organizer is culpable.

  speaker said we should not partake because when jesus arrives he will take the remnat to heaven and the memorial will be no more.

  just as we will not partake then (because the memorial will not exist) it is only logical that we will not partake now.

  My husbands hall has closed ( supposedlty to rebuild ....can we say mony laundring here? ... I digress) So they went along with other halls, I suppose, to a big school building and he said the parking lot was packed. It seems like a cunning way to get those R&F to believe the attendance is HUGE when they pull this type trickery on them. If each was at their own hall, I wonder how many empty chairs? I know the last time I went with my husband at thier hall about 3 years ago, there were empty chairs.

  I will never attend another so I can't observe attendance anymore.
