ADVICE NEEDED
by hamptonite21 ina friend of mine called me today to tell me that the elders want to meet with her regarding something that happen in feb. she was seen smoking at a bar by two other witnesses.
she was privately reproved about a year ago for some "misconduct with a guy".
but since then hasnt gone to the meeting.

Interesting note about the Chinese character for boat. Yet another reflection on the absolute certainty of the occurrence of a flood in Noah's day!
One person posted it, so it must be true, right? No need to verify, no need to question which dialect, is the Mandarin, or Cantonese, is this the "simplified" chinese used for computers, or traditional. No, no, none of that.

by Intuit39 ini know of a congregation on the east coast that is having all bookstudies meet at the kingdom hall!
that's right--no bookstudies in private homes, at least for now.... has anyone else heard of this?
and what could be the reason?

by caligirl ini was talking to my sister yesterday, who spent the weekend with our still active parents.
over the weekend, they all had dinner with another couple, who were sharing some of the "latest news.

The Society has been saying for years that they didn't know what that scripture meant, but that they had been waiting for understanding of it, although they did say that they thought the "interior rooms" referred to the congregations.
My speculation: if this is their "present truth" then this could be used to support the requirement for JWs to live in centralized "compound" -- for their own protection at "Harmageddon" of course -- which would be similar to oh so many other cults which force communal living on their followers.
