K, Guys I'm HERE!!!!

well, i've probably on posted on this site once or twice although i've visited a few more times that that.

today i met with a few of our friends in knoxville and they were telling me about how good this board is and how active.

i may not post too often since i'm now a full time student (even at my old age) and have tons of homework.. brief history:.

Well, I've probably on posted on this site once or twice although I've visited a few more times that that. Today I met with a few of our friends in Knoxville and they were telling me about how good this board is and how active. I may not post too often since I'm now a full time student (even at my old age) and have tons of homework.

Brief History:

I'm an X now since Nov 98. I've had excellent encouragement and support when I got out from many of my friends at the Randy's board, (started by Tishie). I was a Witness for 27 years. Started to study in my early teens with my parents, married a JW, raised my children to be JW's. Although both my children are now out. PTL.

I have been divorced and am now remarried to a wonderful WONDERFUL man. He has given me so much insight to the scriptures (and I don't mean the JW way) that I am able to make sound decisions for myself.

I hope that I can be of encouragement and participate from time to time. I did see many pictures of many people on the board but don't ask me who's who because my memory will stop there. LOL

Glad to be here and I hope to get to know more people.

My JW mom refuses to attend my wedding!?!?!?

ok...i just don't understand this.

i am getting married in a few months and i thought this would be the happiest part of my life.

right now it is the most agonizing!

I feel for you. When my daughter married in 2000, I was not allowed to go to her wedding. She was a 1/2 time jw. What I mean is she had started to leave but because her father and grandparents are jw's she told me in NO uncertain terms that I was NOT to show up at all since I was df'd. It's been almost 5 years now but it still hurts to think about it. My eldest baby. I didn't get to see her get married. She has since decided to leave the jw's, but we never talk about the wedding because she knows it still hurts me and she's not ready to apologize for that yet. She still has some growing up to do even though she's 24. I cry everytime I think of it.

Although I don't know what to say to you but keep your chin up, life does go on, I know the pain you are feeling.

contains a 12-page-series, the watchtower contains a qfr on "how do christians view overeating?

You know, I haven't seen an Watchtower or an Awake in so long (5 yrs since I left) that I don't know if I'd recognize one. LOL

I'm so glad to be out that I do not even want to see one.

To go into obesity... what a crock. What are they going to do next. I think the jw's have covered every type of subject that is possible just to cover their butts. But then again, they will have everlasting life! Yeah! right! Give me a break. After 27 years as one, I still don't see the times any different.

Sorry, I can't help you in translating. Now I could if it was from French to English but German, sorry.

Now that I've been in the states for almost 5 years, I don't think I miss the French in Quebec any more. It feels good to speak English although there are a lot of Spanish around. Might one day decide to learn that language. Would be helpful once I'm finish University and go to graduate school.

I speak both languages. My X was french so I learnt french. Was in the french congregations for many, many years. Was in Mascouche, & Verdun. My parents were in Lachine. In the English. You might now them. They were Fabians. I don't have anything good to say about them so I pray you don't ask me anything positive. :-(

I can't believe it. Yes, I knew Grace Landsbury too. I remember when she died. Such a "faithful witness." Please.....
Anyway, I'm glad to start to see some french/english Quebecers here. I'm feeling less lonely.

Hi Grace,
No unfortunately we never met. I did send you a sympathy card and we both know Rational Witness, plus many others, like Helen, etc from Tishie's old board.
Hugs to you though. Nice to chat with you. School is ALMOST over in 2 weeks and am I glad. Have had my nose in books so much this semester, but am taking summer off. No classes being offered that I need and anyway, I really and mean REALLY need the rest. Did toooooo much this semester.

Another Canadian here. Although I've left Montreal, Chomedey, Ste-Therese, Blainville, Ville LaSalle, Verdun, (you name it, I've probably been there).
I am now in TN, thank goodness. Not sorry I left Montreal, but do miss some things. I would love to meet other Montrealers from there and see if we know each other,
