That's the catch 22 situation, isn't it?

There are many here also stuck because of family and friends. My wife knows exactly how I feel, she's cried buckets and both of us don't no what to do for the best. She wants things to be back to normal "truth wise" and is scared something will get back to the Elders. I just want to step down as an MS, but find it so hard because of my over zealous father in Law and other family + they are a very emotional lot.

That would be a bad move, you don't need me to tell you that. I went out for a drink with my best friend, a few months back. I almost slip up by indicating that I was not for abstaining from blood (drink talking). You could see his face go white with shock. The next few days he was a bit distant with me, I continued being myself. He must have put it down to the drink talking. Thankfully he's back to normal now, it's just made me more wary!

In our district each cong pays monthly to the assembly hall. The amount is decided by the local elders, depending on the amount of publishers each cong as. The Elder's ask the cong by a show of hands if they agree on the amount (the majority put their hands up anyway), as if they have a choice!

The amount I think recently was either £60 or £100. I have feeling it was upped to £100. 14 congs in our city times £100 = £1,400 per month times by 12 months = £16,800 per year. Oh then there are all the other congs who use the hall in our circuit & district too!

Now Foot and Mouth Hits My Families Farm.

i thought that maybe i would keep everyone up to date re the foot and mouth epidemic that is sweeping the uk.. my wifes brother bob has a farm in dumfries, which is just across the scotland border.

yesterday tony blair visited the area and commended the farmers for their courage in keeping going in the face of almost insurmountable odds.. this morning bob received a letter from the ministry of agriculture.

his animals are within 5 miles of an outbreak of f & m, and as such they are to be slaughtered in an effort at containment.

when i was in my zealous days for the wts, i was given the "privilege".

of doing a wt & awake demo.. offering the mags to my partner i said, "i would really like to leave these bable base publication with you, just for 15p to cover printing costs.

the more i tried to say bible the hard i found it.

Offering the mags to my partner I said, "I would really like to leave these Bable base Publication with you, just for 15p to cover printing costs. The more I tried to say Bible the hard I found it. Years later I now know I was right the first attempt. :)

On another occasion offering the WT about the Golden rule, all I could say was "the WT is talking about turning the other Cheek, you know....do to others before they can do it to you! hurmmm I mean... do to others before they do it to you! The more I tried, again the harder it was to remember Jesus words. The cong was in hysterics.

On Field sevice too. In the UK it's OK to go to peoples back doors (where we are it is anyway), on some houses there are outside toilets ....sorry "bathrooms", U.S. I knock on this back door, only to hear a voice from the toilet say, "hello I am in here, I am busy"!
Quick as a flash I said (in other words without thinking) "Oh ok then we'll let you GET ON, bye, We'll perhaps call back another time, when you will be less busy"

That's MY funny slip ups. Hope you like em.

I don't get asked to do demos anymore....... yahoooooeee!
