in some respects i should be flattered that you used my animations (sorry the animations i have personally chosen) for your post.
come on there are loads of animation sites, please use something different as your permanent animation.. i feel that once we've found a pic or animation and no doubt other will agree, that they become personal to us, plus other posters recognize us by them.. .

Secret Posters Hedging Their Bets?
by Englishman insince i found sites like this on the internet i have been constantly amazed at the great number of people who post here and yet do this in secret.. so many people seem to be trapped in a situation where they desperately want to leave the jw religion behind.
so many people seem to be unable to do so for fear of losing their families, fearing that a da'ing or df'ing decree will separate them from the people that they love.
some posters are even elders and ministerial servants.. so, can you guys tell me how you manage to lead a life that is so complex?

Englishman and all,
My post to Sarah about her being new here...........
Sarah
Nice to have you aboard.I admire your courage to suddenly stop going to meetings all at once!
I'm still going to the meetings and an a MS too. My wife is still, well I would not say 100% JW, maybe 98%. I have other family that are very zealous for the WTS, would die for it. So for now, as hard as it might be, I have to keep up my outward appearance of being a true JW.I hope the Elders keep off your backs and not bring about a Judicial action against you both!
Tattoos ? ....Not much on the WT CDROM........Mmmmmmmm
I don't think it is a DF act.
I think that if a Brother with "privlages" had a tattoo he would have the privlages taken off him, eg; If he is a MS he would be taken off.Mmmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmm! Maybe that's it!........... I am off to get a tattoo...thanks for the Idea!!!! Bye, got to go!

I think in my case the label of being DF for Apostacy is the reason I am still keeping up the act! If you are DF for something like gambling for example, most close family JW's will still talk and won't consider you as to all ends and purposes dead to them, forever!
I know some might think I'm taking too long to make the move, I'd rather just cool off very very slowly (yes, I feel the Elders and some friends are getting worried about me, through comments asked to my wife about me not being the same).
Although I Joke about the Tattoo, it might be a good step in my slow exit. I want to be free to visit other Christian Church's, even enroll in an Alpha course.
It would be great if there was a big up"evil" in the org and another exodus like back in the mid 70's. Maybe silentlambs revelation might be the one! who knows?
In the end as one friend said, "you got to do what you got to do".

I think the clue is in the editing of flamethrower's first post to the board. Check out the topic Venice, hippi and tina replied to, versus the "I'm new here" we replied to.
The initial post was a racial insult designed to provoke. Then edited to look innocent.
Thanks for the insight outnfree & hippikon.
Just a thought. If we are the first one to speak to a new poster, it might be a good idea to take a copy of their original post and save it for a while. Then if they edit later, the inciminating evidence can be reposted back up for all to see!

Convention Summary
by Moxy inas promised, here are my observations from the three convention days here in hamilton, ontario.
i hadnt expected to say much since many like lostmyreligion and bibleexaminer had already discussed it a lot.
actually i have quite a few things to say, hopeful meaningful things.. a few general observations: .

Moxy thanks for the reminders,
Although there were slight differences at your DC, I could have sworn you was at ours in the UK.
You mentioned the drama and following talk about loyalty, this part of the program really made me sick........
The theme of loyalty to the Organization ahead of family was not a subtle undercurrent. It was repeatedly stressed explicitly, in the person of the narrator, Korah's son, his two brothers and their cousin. The cousin is kind of a focal character for the audience. He is caught in the middle of the conflict (literally at the end!) despite pleadings from his wife. He tears free from her and dies when the 'earth swallows the rebels' or rather when the rebels comically dance around and fall to the ground. We are told to avoid "unnecessary sadness" at the loss of similar rebels today. "Shame! SHAME on those who criticize and complain!"
Looking over to see one of my family members nodding their head in agreement!
How sad, that love for someone can be manipulated so easy, conditional love that is turned off when someone is classed as a rebel!
