i say nearly, because i arrived round my mothers house just a few minutes after he left.

Change of tack: Think about animals for a minute. A lion that eats grass would, in fact, be a very different animal from the one we know today as a lion. Why those sharp teeth, and powerful jaws? Why the slashing claws and body strength? Grass doesn’t run away or fight back. Its whole digestive system – its whole body – needs a complete redesign to accommodate the new grass-based diet. It simply would not be a lion anymore.

The Lion thing.......Just the sort of doubts that built up in me to get me to out of the Borg. There is a natural order to things (the food chain), I don't see how all of this would be changed by a new order including vegitarian animals. It's simple......break the food chain, from that point natural order of things would go into chaos!

Why do for example wasps have stingers?!........Oh yeh to sting rotting fruit to bits, maybe! LOL

Got My First Diesel. But...

i finally decided it was time to throw away my decrepit austin montego and get something for work that was a little less..well, tatty.. i need to carry ladders and tools and things.

however having had the experience of losing (stolen, actually) the tools from a van on 2 occasions, i know the value of having a car for work that has at least got a boot large enough to be able to hold my gear, without actually advertising the fact that, hey look, easy pickings!.

so, a car is what i needed.

Just thought, I don't know if you already do this but...........I was advised to always depress the clutch, to take the strain from the gear box/clutch off the engine, even if the car is neutral. The engine will not have to rotate the clutch and part of the gear box, this takes the wear off the starter motor too.

I just got rid of my nice wittle Peugot (never could spell that word) 205 diesel. It was prob the best car I have had. Alway started even on the coldest mornings.

I think erics idea is a good one..............

Without giving you a primer on diesels, try this. When it is really cold, turn the key or push the switch that illumates the lamp for ten seconds twice before you crank it over. A nice warm head is required for diesel happiness.

It maybe that it's you injecters that need a good clean, because our cold mornings are nothing like what the U.S.A and cananda would get (like I need to tell you that!).

Don't do what one of my inlaws did and refill with petrol. LOL the funny thing he did it twice! It's a real pain having to drain the fuel system.
