  My daughter ( JW) called me today!!!!!!!

  every one knows( regulars on board) that my jw daughter didnt speak to me for 10 years- the when my melanie was dying in 1999,she heard i was having back problems & having a hard time lifting my melanie...she told that person she would be willing to come & help if she had the money( she lives in montreal i live in ontario) so i called her bluff & sent the money for her fare.she stayed to help my daughter 10 days.

  then when my daughter died -3 days after she left.

  she spoke to me on the phone said she was sorry- ( all the time she was here religion was not discussed -when christians came to visit mell she would walk out)although she worked real hard while here.

  I am rubbish at putting feelings into words.......I feel both great happiness for you but great frustration too for your situation!

  The things religion can do to a family!

  Just had a tiff (fall out) with the wife.........she's an active JW's, she would not go with me to see my DA Mum. She's in fear that someone from our old cong will see us!

  We have a good relationship, she's torn....... and as strong JW family.

  I am happy for you and hope your daughter keeps up the contact.......I hear the Borg might be trying to soften up!

  i have to say that at one time i wouldn't even consider reading material at a discussion group like this one.

  but in the last two years, discussion groups like this one have been indispensable to my dealing with a very personal crisis of faith, and i want to thank the brave and loving persons who sponsor sites like this, and the brave and loving persons who participate in them.

  like many here, i was raised as one of jehovah's witnesses and never questioned the validity of the wbts view.

  Your situation is not unlike mine, my journey out is further on than yours. In my case I was an up and coming Elder. My wife like your is still a JW's. If there is any consolation, if like my wife the arguments will fizzle out. Just don't let them push you apart, in the end, if she does not choose to listen you will have to agree to disagree.

  this is my latest hobby on the internet, i came across this site by accident..................... you'll need the the mame software first (this the program that you download the individual games into)........ go to http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/classicgaming/mame32qa/mame32v67b.exe this is the windows based version.

  you will have to download from the non members link.. once you have the above program you need the games...................i like the following sites............ http://www.clubi.ie/ogiee/ankman/ (no membership required to download).

  http://www.mame.dk/ (free membership, to download) .....once you choose a game in the details page scroll down to the bottom, you need 0.67 rom.

  Thanks for the info, the MAME program seem OK so far, although the sound can get a little distorted.

  ZX Specy now that is a blast from the past. It's the console that I started of in computers with, the Commodore 16 & 64.......onward.

  aylestone congreagation leicester ; what a place that was.. we were so starved for laughter we used to laugh at the slightest thing; you remember how witnesses are deprived of true humour so they must negotiate with anything they hear slightly funny ?

  that was what it was like for us at aylestone.. it was like sitting in a morgue.

  we lost a great elder;- fantastic laugh.
