does anyone dream they are on the ministry?
by pajaha inor maybe that should be "nightmare" - not dream.. it happens less and less, but still does now and again after 10 years.
it's always associated with a great feeling of dread and going from door to door knowing you do not believe what you are saying (i should point out that, while i was in it, i pretty much did believe it).. i guess it shows how big a part of our lives it once was - a bit like you often dream of being in school or of long-departed relatives..

I had a weird dream that started out as field service, and somehow turned into a hostage situation. Seriously. Wish I remembered more details, but I think it was my subconsious screaming at me. This was after I had been inactive for a couple years.

You could always go have enough fun to get yourself removed by them... They make the EXACT same announcement.

How many exBethelites?
by Christ Alone ini'd just like to see who here has served at bethel, including myself.
this may be useful for those that have specific questions about bethel, but don't know who of us actually served there.
could we hear from those that served at bethel and where you served?

Total submission, reinforced by 24/7 (thinly) veiled threats. Fear/guilt, fear/guilt, wash and repeat.
My second day in bethel, we had to sign a AUTHORIZATION FOR BODY DISPOSAL form. Right away they make sure you know they own you.

leavingWT is right, most ex-bethelites I know end up hardcore or totally gone within 3 years. A CO I spoke with after I left Bethel and was still in the org told me plainly that I had to work even harder to stay spiritual because it was pretty common for ex-bethelites to fall out of the truth shortly after leaving. I laughed inside, because mentally, I had already checked out.
/edited cause i used the wrong word...

Confidential Materials!
by Atlantis inall documents of important nature such as, our kingdom ministry, boe letters, forms, or other materials will now be sent only by email or private message communications.
they will not be posted out here on the board.
if someone else wants to post them, be my guest.. .. we have no other choice in this matter, and sending out confidential documents is better when it is done privately.

To anyone with something to lose if your email address got out:
MAKE AN ANONYMOUS EMAIL ADDRESS!!!! That's fading 101. I made a whole seprate email for all my "apostate" sites and my twitter account for privacy. I made up a name to use with it also. Gmail, hotmail, yahoo are all easy to use for this.
I am sure Atlantis knows all of us want privacy, but a simple oversite or wrong click could make your email address visible unintentionally, and you should NOT blame him if this happens.
Be smart about your privacy if you want to stay private.

If You Have Premium Cable Channels What Are Your Favorites?
by minimus ini used to have everything my cable offered in the area.
hbo used to be my favorite but i have to say showtime is the best now.
homeland and dexter alone are worth the price (especially if you can get a deal)..

Mrfreeze, I'm cancelling showtime on Monday after Dexter ends, and I will reactivate it when the new season restarts. All the other shows I am fine catching up with on demand.

COs and other org heavies - Interest in secular entertainment?
by A question inin any conversations and dealings you had with organization 'heavies' or their wives, such as cos, dos, missionaries, and so forth, did they ever have a lot of interest in any kind of secular entertainment (movies, tv shows, fiction books, and so forth)?
or did they always discuss only 'spiritual interests'?.

Another vote for showtime, I love Dexter, the first few seasons of Weeds, and Shameless (re-write of a british show.)
Not "premium" but LOVE FX, Justified, Son's of Anarchy, Archer, and on AMC I like Breaking Bad.
