Cantleave - that is solved by tying a bell to your wrist, when it rings an angel gets its wings. Then loses them. Then gets them. Then loses them. Then lo-lo-loses them. Then gets them.
I hope he's not doing low-fly manoeuvres at the time.

so, i eventually decided that this place wasn't the apostate hot bed i was led to believe ;-), (or maybe i am now an apostate!
but i don't feel like one.)..
i was brought up in "the truth".. i loved it.
Oh and I've never voluntarily exercised in my life.
And I used to like ale too...

Hi Superboy,
Welcome to the site. I agree with your summary of it not being as evil as you once thought it would be...
I too am gay, and have left - and absolutely couldn't be happier.
I remember once stopping at train station toilets on my way to a Spanish circuit assembly in London, then when I got to the assembly hall an attendant started cruising me...there's so many of us still in there.
Look forward to hearing more from you in the future.
fewer new zealand citizens affiliated as jws in 2013 than in 1996: over 15 years of successive decreases.
the first table shows the new zealand census from 1976 to 2013. typically, numbers of citizens affiliated with the witnesses are higher than the number of active publishers because it includes children and those who are affiliated with the witnesses but who may not be active publishers.. of note, more citizens were recorded as affiliated with the witnesses in 1996 (19,527) than in 2013 (17,931).
the decline in numbers affiliating with the witnesses in new zealand started in 2001 and has continued across two further census reports - so this is not just a temporary blip.
Which NZ PM was it who said that every time a Kiwi emigrated to Australia, the average IQ of both countries went up?
i have looked at the thread about gay marriages in california and thought about asking this question there, but instead of hi-jacking that one i thought i would ask it here.
there seems to be quite a few gay people on this site and i wonder how many class themselves as christian?
if so, can being gay live in harmony with being a christian?.
I was born gay but I turned 'christian' (a dub anyway) being as one is inherent and one is a choice, I did what any logical, thinking and non-superstitious person would do, and stopped choosing to be a believer, and to be true to the person I am inside.
If that offends any higher being, or one of his followers, I really don't care. I'm not going to fight to be accepted by a group of people that wouldn't miss me anyway.
hello all, it is nice to have a forum for former jw's and see i wasn't the only one out there having serious doubts.
my parents got into it when i was about 4 years old.
my family was part of the granville ny congregation.. my dad in time became an elder.
Welcome!
I am shocked that the witnesses you married weren't perfect and were talented actors and liars, that sounds so out of charac...
Oh please, who am I kidding?!
Look forward to more posts!
i had an idea for coming up with a standard(ish) set of interview questions which members of the ex-jw community could use to provide insights into their lives as a kind of series (yeah, i was thinking of "interview with a vampire", lol).. anyway, this is the result to show the sort of thing i'm thinking of (applied to myself) and i'd like feedback on the format and the questions as well as who you'd also like to see "interviewed".. feel free to provide your own life story as a separate topic or ask any additional questions that i've missed.
it's not meant to be rigid so questions / themes can be adapted as needed and split / joined as appropriate.
the common questions will hopefully apply to everyone for some consistency and to guide the writing process with additional questions asked that make sense to each subject.. well, here goes .... tell us a little about yourself and your family.. im an independent software developer who grew up in manchester (uk) but now lives in calgary (canada) with my wife angharad and two boys, liam and dylan.
Thanks Simon,
Really interesting, and i think you should think about that book, your writing is very readable!
I can't believe that someone vandalised your car in the KH car park?! Did you drive around proudly in it like Stuart in Queer as Folk??
Although I'm a Londonder, I had a cousin who lived in Flixton, close to Irlam, but a whole Ship Canal away... she wasn't a witness.
...to my boyfriend, we're going to have one of those weddings ('gay' weddings to the straights).. although my jw family know i'm gay, and not going to meetings, only one of my sisters has sussed the situation.
but i think after 3 years it's about time i told them.
especially if sometime in the future i'll turn up with a (gay) wedding ring.
Thank you everyone!
it has been nice talking with you.but i seem to upset a few because of my faith.. so have a great christmas.... & be good, i wont be here to send you to your rooms .
i have grown close to many of you.... if i have ever said anything to hurt you sorry!!!!.
when i kick the bucket i am sure "mary" who ssometimes post will let you know.. mouthy grace gough.
I agree, I don't comment on here much, but when I do, I mean it.
STAY!!
i had a music album by a gay guy before i was a jw and had no problem listening to it.
it's good music.
some of the lyrics are what you might call 'gay', that is there's some talk about boyfriends, gay bars, and queens and the intolerance the artist encountered as a gay man.
Hi Data Dog you big hunk,
Fancy PMing for a bit? I might be engaged, but hey, what the eyes don't see...
Julia, at least you feel that your programmed responses are to be changed, all witnesses, many ex-jws and lots (too many) never-been-dubs cherish their homophobia.
