Were it not for the fear of being disfellowshipped, a big number of them would just leave immediately, others just a bit later.

There are many different Christian religions, and the vast majority of them don’t make a point of antagonizing the other ones. They just go about their own business.

Why didn't God disfellowship Jesus for breaking the laws of the Talmud?
by I_love_Jeff injesus loathed the talmud and broke as many of its laws as he could on any occasion that presented itself.
so if jesus broke the laws of the talmud, wouldn't he have been disfellowshipped if he did the same thing to the watchtower.
a jehovah's witness can be disfellowshipped or disassociated if he/she breaks this rule in the elder's manual: rebellion against jehovah's organization.. what say you?.

Jesus did follow the Law, but he put the focus on the spirit of the Law, not on the letter.
He did not go out of his way to break the rules gratuitously, just denounced when these rules were followed in a way contrary to the purpose for which they were given in the first place.
He did not condone slavery, he said love your neighbour as yourself. He also advised not to owe anything to anyone.

Evidence For Impending Change Re: "Loose Conduct" to "Brazen Conduct"
by DarioKehl inon another thread discussing possible changes to the nwt, the post refered to a 2nd-hand report of a co leaking possible changes to 5 verses where "loose conduct" would be replaced by "brazen conduct.
" although it is merely speculative at this point, i would like to remind those of you who did attend the 2012 dc this summer about some important evidence that supports this theory.
if the program is still available on jw.org, feel free to see this for yourselves.

What is brazen is the way they interfere in people’s lives, and as WTWizard says how they
How they use people’s belief in God, to keep them in an infantile state, depriving them of becoming the person they could have been had they had other teachers with their best interests at heart, rather than liars that just seek their own interests.
It is certainly brazen, the way they treat people that just don’t agree with the way they interpret the Bible, or how they become the judges of people’s private lives.
hold people hostage trying to prevent them from doing things to build up their souls. -

I Believe Catholicism And Its Trappings Are Silly, Strange & Weird!!!
by minimus inmy italian friend loves going to the "feasts" that occur in italy, boston or nyc.
these feasts feature a "saint" with dollar bills pinned around her and they parade the saint in a long procession and chant "viva (whomever)".
they are quite serious about this and are proud to talk about the past generations of observers who appreciated the events.

I don’t need to atone for what my country or my Church did in the middle ages.
I have just stated my opinion and you stated yours. The difference is that you got personal and rude, so don’t pretend to give me lessons on Christianity or anything else because I wont take them from you. Take care rbih.

Mp, should we conclude America is an enemy of the slave abolition as it had slaves until not that long ago, and it took a civil war to end the practice?
I don’t see the Church owning any slaves nowadays, on the contrary I see it defending human rights. Can’t say the same of her enemies.
I am going to leave this subject now, as it is more than clear for anyone that wants to see it.

Rbih, I live in the XXI century and I am on the side of the Church. You are obviously on the side of the Church enemies and that is fine with me. Good luck with them.
If you care about slavery there is plenty to do to stop this repugnant practice, as there are millions of people that are being enslaved and trafficked at present.

What they call brazen is just self-respect. They are brazenly manipulators, and about loose conduct they don’t seem to apply the same rules to everyone, as per Rutherford travelling with his secretary and having contiguous rooms.

Rbih, if Jesus would have kept me at an arms length is not for you to say.
As morons go, you are at the very top, bro.
3. you then say christianity is superior to paganism, that pagans were better off being enslaved, massacred, tortured, etc by the catholics.
This just proves you have a serious mental problem and I have no interest in continuing this stupid conversation with you.

Rbih, the only hypocrite I see here is YOU, stop insulting me. What is truly disgusting is how you are bashing the Catholic Church. If it bothers you the fact that Christianity is superior to paganism, you obviously have two problems, blindness and idiocy.
Nothing anyone can do to help you. Take care.
