It makes perfect sense, no religious rituals other than rejecting Jesus‘ body once a year, the rest is quite secular and so is their god.

How would YOU explain a Jehovah's Witness FEAR of Disfellowshipping to a reporter ?
by Balaamsass intoday i got contacted by a reporter.
he was incredulous that a parent would contact elders and not report a child rape to the police immediately.
i tried to put on my jw hat and explain the jw mindset to him..but it was like explaining color to a blind man.

The fear of being disfellowshipped is the fear of being rejected and totally excluded by everyone that knew you from the time of your birth, including your family if you were a born in. As you were encouraged not to have bad associations (the rest of the world), it amounts to being rejected and excluded by your closest friends and/or even family members.
And that could come only from voicing your disagreement with a policy they enforce everyone to follow, or after somebody stalked you to find out who were you spending the night with, or after you decided to wear a cross pendant or decorating a Christmas Tree in your own house. A very high price to pay compared to the “crime”.
Nobody views their baptism as a commitment to a human corporation in any way but as the public expression of their private dedication to God. Adults don’t understand what they are getting into, children much less so.
They say the day of your baptism is the most important one in your life, even more than your wedding day, a child is in no condition of making such a big commitment. Neither an uninformed adult that doesn‘t know the implications of entering into a contract with the WT. Nowadays there is more information available, years ago it was not so much around.
Their baptism is a fraud as it has a different meaning for them than what it has for their followers.

Jehovah's Witnesses and Acts 2:17
by biometrics indoes anyone know how jehovah's witness explain away acts 2:17 is:.
acts 2:17 - in the last days, god says, i will pour out my spirit on all people.
your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.. they admit we are living in the 'last days', yet they don't seem to have young men with visions or old men dreaming dreams (at least not inspired ones).. .

WT and the Illuminati - truth or fiction?
by SnowQueen ini've been reading around this subject of late and it seems to make a lot of sense.
i'm wondering if anyone is convinced and/or has seen anything that can substantiate or corroborate the 'facts' set out in these arguments.. http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/bloodlines/russell.htm.
i was particularly fascinated to read the following:.

True, there is no proof that the WT is Illuminate, but there is proof that they are damaging for the people that comes in contact with them.

I Believe Catholicism And Its Trappings Are Silly, Strange & Weird!!!
by minimus inmy italian friend loves going to the "feasts" that occur in italy, boston or nyc.
these feasts feature a "saint" with dollar bills pinned around her and they parade the saint in a long procession and chant "viva (whomever)".
they are quite serious about this and are proud to talk about the past generations of observers who appreciated the events.

Rbih, what is moral? On what should we base our policies? If you lived in a community that believed scamming you was ok, would it make them right the fact that they were the majority? What is it that gives moral authority?

Europe is doing fine…in France you can not wear a cross if you are a public servant, in Germany you can not circumcise your own son, in Spain the Pope visits and Christians that pacifically came to listen to him get mobbed to the point that the police has to intervene, in Denmark a paper publishes some cartoons that are offensive for Muslims because it makes a lot of sense in terms of freedom of speech (without defending the violent reaction that this caused in any way, but why do it in the first place?)… Do you see a problem growing there?

As it happens, the ones who promised to free people from the evil influence of religion have been so far the deadliest and cruellest of all.
Politicians have their own religion: power.

Without having all the details, I would say their problem is more related to how they do politics than to religion itself.

NC, who are “they“? In Uganda, I mean.
Politics rule the world, and they seem to follow their own religion.
