How easyly people can be distracted, deceived and manipulated by almost anything, and how dangerous that is for the whole of society.

Two Questions for the 'Governing Body'
by The Searcher ini'm pretty certain in my own mind that certain ones at brooklyn will have been 'assigned' to monitor websites such as this, despite warning the 'flock' that they musn't do the same.
therefore, i expect such ones to pass this on.. my questions may seem "rebellious" to certain ones, but they deserve scriptural, not organizational answers -.
why are we as a worldwide brotherhood, urged to expend ourselves as much as possible in the ministry, discussing and defending with complete strangers our bible based beliefs, (1 peter 3:15) and yet we are expressly forbidden from doing so with our brothers and sisters?

Hi Searcher, very good questions, I would like to believe there is somebody honest minded enough among those from the organization that monitor this pages, but to reach that position you would have already proven beyond any reasonable doubt that you support the cause. Otherwise they wouldn’t trust you to read these sites. There are many reasons why one would support an unjust cause like personal gain, or just believing it is a just cause.

Could UFO Disclosure Bring About A Golden Age?
by metatron inthere are a great many people - and internet sites- that preach a sort of 2012/ufo gospel.
while they may contradict one another, they mostly teach that ufo's will intervene and save us, especially if governments admit that they exist.. yeah, ok..... been there, heard that..... but could there be a core of truth to this idea?.
what would happen if the world acknowledged that et's exist?.

I had a school friend who also had an UFO experience with her family, I do not doubt she saw something, but I don’t believe her interpretation of it.
If aliens were real, we’d still have to deal with the same question, who made the aliens?

What leads a person to think they are inspired by God?
by jwfacts inthere seems no end of people claiming to be inspired.
there are numerous holy books claiming to have been handed to their writers by god.
these days a person writing their own holy book is likely to be met with scepticism (unless you are a scientologist), so people tend to claim to be inspired to interpret older holy books.

Probably a mixture of megalomania and seeking to exercise power over others, or as in the case of the witnesses and others like them, being manipulated by somebody that suffers from megalomania and that seeks to exercise power over others.
Ultimately all of us are inspired by whoever or whatever we make our god.

JWs "Encourage" Their Youth To Invest In The Full Time Ministry And Not Go To College so....
by minimus inif that's the case, ideally, we should all be preachers and never college students or college grads.
but here's the problem for those that adhere to that viewpoint: jw's should not sponsor anyone that has gone to college.
if you support such ones, it should be conscientously objectionable.

That is a testimony of their own mediocrity, otherwise they would have nothing to fear from educated people.

Their complaints are very legitimate, but the way they go about it is not the most effective one, and that will end up having the opposite effect of what they intend. They are misguided.

The Watchtower and the Masons
by ozziepost inthe latest edition of the free in christ ministries journal contains a very interesting article entitled the watchtower and masons.. drawing upon material from the book the watchtower & the masons by fritz springmeier, it gives the following parallels between the things that c t russell believed and those taught by the masons:.
* both believe jehovah is the most important word being the basis of their dogma, and the name of their god.
* both believe god yielded power to a lesser god.

Avoid know-it-alls and judgemental people and specially the ones that don’t practice what they preach.

Never get involved with people that lack scruples. They don’t usually advertise it, so sometimes is too late when you realize it.
Another thing many have not learned since leaving the WT is that actions speak louder than words.
