As it happens, the ones who promised to free people from the evil influence of religion have been so far the deadliest and cruellest of all.
Politicians have their own religion: power.

Without having all the details, I would say their problem is more related to how they do politics than to religion itself.

NC, who are “they“? In Uganda, I mean.
Politics rule the world, and they seem to follow their own religion.

Rbih, you are biased about this subject and this has shown in your previous posts.
You are comparing Catholicism with Muslim Fundamentalism here, and Muslim Fundamentalism can not even be compared with other more moderate forms of Islam, much less so with Christianity.
i've been reading around this subject of late and it seems to make a lot of sense.
i'm wondering if anyone is convinced and/or has seen anything that can substantiate or corroborate the 'facts' set out in these arguments.. http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/bloodlines/russell.htm.
i was particularly fascinated to read the following:.
The only thing we know for sure is that they exercise too much control over people’s private lives.
This is the fact, everyone can speculate about the reasons why.
trying to understand the differences.
started this topic on the xjwsforchrist forum as well and would like to ask jwn posters the same question.
Spirituality is personal, but religion is social and public by definition, and it should be respected. It doesn’t belong to anyone to dictate if and how you worship your God.

Fanatics are dangerous, whether they are religious or not. In Afghanistan you can be stoned for adultery, under Communism you could lose your life for just being a Christian.
my italian friend loves going to the "feasts" that occur in italy, boston or nyc.
these feasts feature a "saint" with dollar bills pinned around her and they parade the saint in a long procession and chant "viva (whomever)".
they are quite serious about this and are proud to talk about the past generations of observers who appreciated the events.
EP, sorry the message was intended for somebody with a brain.

if all catholics/christians AREN'T the same, how is it that all atheists/pagans ARE the same?
Rbih, you can be supporting an agenda even if you are unaware of it. The Church doesn’t define itself in opposition to anyone. A big number of atheists define themselves as opposed to the Church. They may go about it in different ways, but their goal is the same, to bring down religion, and the Catholic Church in particular.
It is good to ask oneself, why did the WT always had this fixation with the Catholic Church? See where it leads you.
slavery... racisim... corporate greed... atom bombs used against civilians... 53 million aborted... a debt to be paid by generations yet to be born... an oubreak of child-offenders in public schools.... does anyone think america is evil?
or, does she have evil elements that ruin her brand as a great nation?.
**because i have been accused of all kinds of things, let me tell you my full agenda here: i am roman catholic.
Hi Travis, could you please send me a pm with which sites do you manage? I would like to continue reading your posts.
It seems obvious to me that there are some people posting here, hickjacking the threads that seem to have a clear agenda. I see not much of a point in debating them seriously, as they are not looking for truth, just trying to bully the ones that don’t agree with them, and to confuse the others.
Regarding the Catholic Church being evil, you only need to look at her enemies.
America is a country, but if it is governed by a morally superior code than that of Christianity it should show. If it is not, then the Christian code is morally superior.
PS. King Solomon is a troll.
