As someone else said on another website, expect the first side to be 0-3 down to win the final.

My thoughts over "this Generation" as a Jew would understand it
by Aleph ini saw the video over the word "generation" and how you david s explained it.one thing for sure, is david doesn't understands at all how hebrews sees and understands things.let me explain...middle asians from antiquities, and hebrews saw things, in a complete different way than europeans are perceiving times and events!we, as modern europeans, we see the future in front of us, past in our back, right ?....
for the jews it s the contrary.how come ?well, for a jew they think past is in front of them because they can see it.future is in their back, as they can't see it.same thing for a generation.generation are seen from the perspective of the people who lived but died until a certain point, not the contrary as europeans sees the generation from a date of birth.
now really you can have a complete understanding of this when the bible says :" the date of death worth more than the date of birth"....again, you can judge not from how a person was born, but from what he had done in his life, same will apply for a generation.also as the wt stated well that the things described by the "sign" of the parousia were chronological, and happening in a certain order, the verse that talks about the genea is located not directly in reference of the parousia, but in the text referring to the great tribulation.

Someone told me the other day that he heard from a Muslim that they consider 120 years to be one generation.
I am guessing that SBF doubts that this is true, but is just reporting what he was told.
Just out of curiosity, I decided to check this out. I actually know quite a few Arabs, who are reasonably well educated and speak Arabic as a first language, and I was pretty certain I knew the answer, but I thought I would check. I asked a professional English/Arabic Muslim translator (who wears an abaya). I first asked “how long is a generation”, got a strange look, and then had to explain that someone on the internet is suggesting a generation is 120 years, perhaps in an Islamic context. This normally friendly person looked at me as if I was stupid or something. The Arabic word for generation means pretty much exactly what the English word means, and there is no magical 120 years. Arabic (which is the language of Islam) also has separate words for “decade” and “century”. Of course the Islamic Hijra calendar is based on a lunar year which is about 10 days shorter than a Gregorian year, as well. Conclusion: bullshit.

Article begins:
”After enduring years of secrecy and betrayal, Shelly Rose Braieoux finally dug deep within herself and picked up the phone.
Having grown up with parents who were strict Jehovah's Witnesses, she remembers being taught to fear outsiders.
Making a report to the police, an elder told her, would "bring reproach" upon Jehovah's name.“

Yes Blondie, I didn’t actually know the service year ended 31 August each year, but I figured it must be an important reporting date in the Borg empire. Charities can pick whatever financial year they like, but most would pick one ending on 30 June, to match the fin yr end for individual tax returns, and most of the rest would pick a calendar year.

Some happifying news. Nett 12 more congregations in Australia have disappeared.
Around 3 months ago, a search of the Australian Charities Commission website would show the following registered as charities in Australia:
- 787 congregations,
- 5 assembly halls, and
- 1 bethel.
Plus there were 36 congregations whose registration had been voluntarily revoked in the last 3 years. 12 of those had been revoked in the preceding 12 months.
These charities all seem to have a financial year ending 31 August, which means they must report by 28 February the following year. Given we are well passed 28 Feb, I checked and the figures are now:
- 775 congregations,
- 5 assembly halls, and
- 1 bethel.
Plus 49 congregations whose registration had been voluntarily revoked. (I think this figure includes all of the 36 listed before, but I am not 100% certain.)
So overall, it looks like 13 dissolved and 1 new one created. I went through the list in detail, and the ones whose registration has been revoked in the last 12 months (April 2018 onwards) are as follows:
Aberfoyle Park (SA)
Alexandra Hills (Qld)
Austinmer (NSW)
Ballajura (WA) (only a month ago)
Blackburn (VIC)
Byron Bay (NSW)
Croydon (VIC)
Elizabeth Park (SA)
Fulham Gardens (SA)
Ginninderra (ACT)
Hackham (SA)
Homebush Cantonese (NSW)
Kempsey South (NSW)
Marion (SA)
Montmorency (VIC)
Mount Hawthorn (WA) (only a month ago)
Narangba (QLD) (only a month ago)
Nhulunbuy (NT)
Paralowie (SA)
Pomona (QLD)
Salisbury Heights (SA)
Springwood (NSW)
Stirling (WA) (only a month ago)
To get the data, I went to https://www.acnc.gov.au/ then clicked "Search for a charity", then typed in search categories such as "congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses", and used "advanced search".

The Truth about the bible
by TTWSYF init really is common sense, but nobody here seems to recognize or acknowledge this blatant and obvious truth.. the holy bible is the result of the catholic liturgy.
they used these scriptures in their religious practices and confirmed which books would and would not be part of their cannon.
they picked, preserved and promoted these books and gave 'the word of god' to the world.. i know that pisses off some folks, but it is the truth [not the 'truth'tm].

Also the RCC it's the only one that uses the Septuaginta.
Jews and Protestants use the canon from the Masoretic Text.Actually, I think the only ones who use the Septuagint are the Greek Orthodox. For most of its history, the Catholics have used the Latin Vulgate, as its “Old Testament” which was produced and translated into Latin using 5 or 6 versions available at the time, including the Septuagint. (Most of the other versions are partially or completely lost.)

Who invented your faith?
by TTWSYF inby some estimates there are up to 40,000 different christian religions.
everyone of them started by a man or a woman.. shakers {ann lee} , quakers [george fox], baptists [john smyth] , mormons [joseph smith] , jws {charles russell] etc, etc can all trace their history to a singular human.. all can do this except for one religion.
catholic church was started by jesus or the apostles or both?.

The Catholic Church (and by extension, Christianity) was started by Saint Paul, who wrote more than half the “Greek Scriptures”. The apostles were still attending synagogues in Acts, so they weren’t out to found a new religion.
I strongly suspect Paul was influenced by the guidance given by Plato in The Republic, as to how to organise a noble religion (eg a god of pure virtue, love and not represented by any animal figure, etc). Paul would have had to have read Plato, given his Greek education. That would also explain why he wrote all those letters to those Greek city states; they would have recognised it and been a little more receptive to the message,

It seems to me much ado about nothing, to me. What Smollett did was very newsworthy, etc, but on a criminal scale, fairly minor. He has been punished in that he forfeited a bail of $100k, and has to do community service.
I don’t know details of the relevant Chicago legal justice system, but it sounds similar to a procedure that happens in Magistrates Courts in Australia (at least in some states). If the offence is relatively minor, a criminal magistrate may impose a fine and order “no conviction be recorded”. The only difference being that in a Australia, the defendant would have formally pleaded guilty, first, which doesn’t seemed to have happened here.

Very interesting info, Solzhenitsyn.
Of course the money he was talking about flowed out of a $40-50 billion USD worldwide asset pool.
Presumably this includes all Kingdom Halls?
