Spec, by God seeing what a child is to become and killing them early totally negates the concept of free will....which then would mean that none of us has a chance to change, our course is plotted from birth.

The thing that always bothered me about the account of Job, as well as the account about David and Bathsheba, is that the children (who were innocent and had committed no sin) had to die. That's kind of like sentencing a murderer's family to the electric chair for HIS crimes.

Just a comment on Kismet's post. Unless things are very different in Canada, an insurance policy is outside the bounds of a will. I was executor for my parents' estate, and the insurance policies were not included as part of the estate.
The beneficiary listed on the policy is the one who gets the proceeds from the policy regardless of how a will is made, or whether there is, in fact, a will at all.

Yes, I remember this, and I remember how this bothered me even as I tried to rationalize it as a good JW. I can remember the talks and the articles stating how David suffered by losing his son and how terrible it was for him to be punished this way. The thought always came back, though.....what about the poor baby? He hadn't done anything, but he had to die. Seemed awfully unfair even then.

Path, I've used this statement before....you don't need to play by their rules anymore.
Do what feels right to you. Just because your parents are brainwashed automatons and are listening to men rather than their hearts, it doesn't mean that you should, also.
If you feel that this would be the best thing to do, then leave your parents as beneficiaries. If, however, you find that the thought of them using the money for the WTBTS and it's magazine selling business to be repugnant, change it.
Perhaps the best option would be to split the beneficiaries, leaving a percentage to your parents and a percentage to your new "family".
I have a situation whereby my nephew has been totally abandoned by my sister and her ex-husband (long, sad story). I have my husband as primary beneficiary on insurance policies, and my daughter and nephew as secondary beneficiaries--with my daughter receiving 75% and my nephew 25%.
This might be a workable solution for you.

Andyman, on reading this, I had the same impression as you did. Organ transplants are not forbidden any longer. If the idea can be slid in that blood is an organ, and organ transplants are not forbidden, blood should not be forbidden.
New light comes in packs of 4....the wattage varies, however.
