Please Respond To Survey! 25 more needed please.
by Big Jim init seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .
thanks.

My mom was sucked into it via the D to D work in 1973 when I was 2; I left at 18 but she is still stuck in it.

thoughts about miscarriage
by silentlambs ini remember the date, may 15, 1991, it was the date my wife miscarried and a young life was lost.
there was no funeral, few remarks of support.
i will never forget the remark of my mother, well it never was really a baby after all.

That was a beautiful poem to your lost child. I too suffered a miscarriage on March 10, 2001. After having two normal pregnancies and two healthy sons, it was quite a shock to hubby and I. Right now I should be getting big and feeling kicks. Not anymore. I will always think of and miss that lost child.

We have a PS2. It is mainly used for DVD playing because there isnt too many games out there for small kids. I just read that Crash Bandicoot will be coming to PS2 so now I cant wait for that! My husband rented "The Bouncer" recently and had alot of fun with it, so that may be one we buy soon. Just wish the games didn't cost so much! We also have a regular Playstation too which is my 5 yr old boy's pride and joy. We have about 150 games and he plays them all like an expert. :O)

I have two boys 5 and 2. They are the light of my life. They are really terrific kids. We are hoping to have a third child sometime in 2002. And then I think that will be it for us.

what brought you out?
by uncle_onion ini was intersted in what brought "you" out.. with me it was the 607 bce thing.
i always followed the org and would have died for it but when i saw the fallacy of the 607 date that blew it for me.
i am now on a quest to try and find something to feel comfortable with.

I was just tired of it all. I was born into the religion (oh lucky me) and I was only 18 when I left. I had never gotten baptized (thank goodness) though the pressure was intense from the age of 11 on up. I was tired of all the meetings, (3 a week is just too much) tired of trudging to boring conventions instead of having real vacations, I always hated field service as I am intensely shy and was forced to make presentations at the door. It did nothing for my self esteem to have people slam the door in my face. I was sick of seeing children as young as babies hit for not being able to sit still like adults. I was sick of the cliques. Rich hung out with the rich and shunned the poorer JWs-that sort of thing. It made me sick to see my JW friend get raked over the coals by the elders for trying to leave her abusive marriage, but two elders daughters who both got themselves pregnant by worldly men were only privately reproved. Whatever. There was no "love", sure there was wonderful people that I met-but I am sure they would have been just as loving and wonderful if they were not JW. I also had been a physically, mentally and sexually abused child-the elders knew and did nothing. Instead they sided with my abuser. I am glad to be out of there.

We just got a PS2 , too. Mostly using it for DVD watching, we have young sons in the house who love their playstation games and wondering if there are any PS2 games out or are coming out that are geared towards the younger kids? Thanks in advance!

Yes! Have the Birthday! You won't regret it. As someone raised in the org. I never once had a birthday. I never even got so much as a gift (though I told my worldly associates that we didn't need holidays we got gifts year round- that is what we were told to say anyway, thought it wasn't true) I have two boys 2 and 5 and they have never known not having birthdays. I love doing up their special days and making sure they feel extra special! They are pretty terrific kids, too. (mommy brag) Have fun!
