How did Jesus keep his beard looking so neat?
by Sour Grapes ini have a full beard and with a pair of electric clippers, i can't come close to having my beard looking at good and trim as jesus in the picture.
i wonder how jewish barbers did it or perhaps his beard was more scruffy than is shown.
does jesus even look jewish?

my mom's family is mostly jws.
during her second marriage, i attended the weekly meeting and sunday meetings (by my own choice) with a family in the very small town we lived, since my mom didn’t attend.

I hope getting that out made you feel better.
For me it read like a lot of different beliefs crisscrossing one another.
There is love here, but very very little tolerance or a stamp of approval for studying with jws.

What would happen?
by Esse quam videri ina thrift store down the street is run by members of a small, local christian congregation.
evangelical but not sure what religion they are affiliated with.
they have set up the store as a non-profit and have a specific use for the funds they acquire.

Years ago when I was in, an elder told me to go get help from the charity down the street. It was for diapers, before I got a high paying job. (that I dont have now.lol) I informed him that I tryed and they wanted me to sign a form that said that I acknowledge that it was the catholic church that gave me help and I was afraid to sign it.. He said "who cares". So loving and hypocritical.
But when I landed the high paying corporate job, I lost count of how many "brothers" came asking for a hand out 'that I was glad to give at the time'. But when I needed diapers???? nothing.

The day after my jw grandmother died( I was real close to her) A family member that was raising me took me out in field service , it was her sister that had just died the day before. I saw dead grandmother with her mouth open waiting for the coroner to arrive just the day before, I was devastated. So I started crying while going from door to door and was violently shaken by her and screamed at me to pull myself together. I can never forget that and I cant forgive it either. Something tells me that that was my childhood breaking point.
I only had a good time in FS when i didnt have to go.

This is of interest to me. And the push for my last thread. Cognitive dissonance and fear can make the mind do crazy a@@ stuff. Notice how these stories are like right off the wrtten pages of a book and right off the movie screen. I believe our brain stores this stuff and then when presented with FOG , fear, guilt, obligation.....ect ... can hallucinations occur. Scary stuff.
I think this is why people that have suffered extreme abuse and witnessed horrible tragic events can splinter off from one self as a protection from the event or events.
I mean how many jws if confronted by TTAT would literally lose there minds, causing all kinds of things.
I know my own journey of waking up has caused chemical imbalances.
My aunt used to say that demons held her down and raped her at night. Guess what, she found out later that it was her MS jw father in real life and she had dissociated from her body to cope with the abuse. It took her almost 25 years to uncover it. Shes still in and has forgiven her father.
