I once told an Elder that there was two "witnesses", Me and Jehovah. That didn't go over well. Funny he got disfellowshipped for molesting his daughter. The whole family were pioneers. He was always burning things he considered demonized. I guess he forgot to set himself on fire.
I hope his daughter recovered as much as possible.

Vidiot-Not to mention that the WT leadership will not even remotely tolerate anything that might lead rank-and-filers to suspect that the WTS isn't God's Earthly Organization.

If they set that in motion it would bring them down rather rapidly.
If they apologized it would put them on the same level as other "false religions" the R&F think they are above.
In near every congregation in nearly every place they are, this abuse goes on. If publicly made known in each place across the board, it would be catastrophic for the GB. They don't have that kind of money and their "attaching gods people due to the end" analogy would rip through the congs so fast it would make there heads spin. Im sure the GB knows this. And the laws and their money are still mostly in their favor at this time. Unfortunately, as others have stated.

What was the last thing you said to your jw family?
by caves in7 years ago i had my last conversation with the toxic jw that mostly raised me.
every conversation was toxic for my entire adult life with her.
the last time we spoke was right before the memorial 7 years ago and she was laying on the usual heavy guilt and fear mongering about how jeho counts his people at the memorial.

Beteliesalot- Interesting. Ive often wondered the same thing about jw death.
My jw grandmother died right before the sexual abuse came out that her husband did to me. Later in life when I confronted all the dynamics of that head on, to my bio jw family, My grandmother appeared to me at night sitting on the side of my bed and ptting my head. She whipered in my ear"Thank you". It still makes me tear up thinking about it.
I do think some jws recon with themselves at death ( meaning ) about the religion/ cult they were in. I think some may not.
I have had my deceased father literally save my life on more than one occasion ( not ever a jw) didnt grow up with him but got to know him later on. But I guess that was just satan and his demons "saving my life". LOL.
Ive had some really interesting experiences surrounding death.

I used to listen to 'glory box' 'porteshead' a lot years ago. Nice to revisit music from the past sometimes.

I appreciate all the storys. All very real, touching, crazy making and traumatizing.
They just dont get it. They just dont get how toxic they can be. Its mind blowing. I'm no saint but damn, I wouldn't treat a rabid dog the way they can treat people from there own family.
@alecholmesthedetective- Its funny how there description of us "apostates' fits them to a tee , yet they are blind to see it.
The scripture about 'pulling the rafter out of your own eye before trying to extract the straw in your bother eye' is merely wasted breath in the wind for them.

I suppose I had had enough and abruptly stopped her in mid sentence (not like the me she knew that would put up with it) then said in a voice she has never heard before and I could hear her jaw hit the floor as I had never stated my thoughts so firmly.
"That is the last time I will ever allow you to use fear as a tactic to scare me into going to the memorial or anything having to do with you or the rest of the family, no more, it stops here, the cycle stops with me!" Click. I hung up and have never talked to her since. It felt liberating and I knew it was the last time we would speak. No contact.
Does anyone else have last words they told their jw fam? Or an especially toxic one? How did you feel?
