Fear of the worldly people.

yesterday, i had a conversation with my neighbor during which i explained the greatest reason why i wanted to raise my kids out of the jws: the fear (which translate to hate) jws have for everyone showing no interest in becoming part of their group.

in order for him to quickly relate to what i meant i asked him to imagine, for a moment, he was the biggest racist he has ever known, forced to live in a black neighborhood.

This WTBS teaching destroys lifes and mental health.

Also they have many times "marked" individuals in the congregation as people to keep a little distance from. Not shunned, not DFed not DAed , but 'marked'.

How in the bloody hell is a Jw to trust ANYONE? Even themselves if the person they were just talking to at the meeting is 'marked' usually heard or overheard of ,after you spoke with said 'marked' person. Then one starts to feel spiritually dirty. Possibly and often questioning there ability to walk a spiritual path approved by jeho. Then its back to study study study . Dont think, just study. Even within the cong there is major mistrust and fear.

So outside the org must be millions of times worse by jws logic.

A recipe for a psychotic break. The GB rely on this fear. It must be forever present...always.

I haven't read all the comments yet. But by what Ive just read and saw I think this needs to be in every therapists 'toolbox' when dealing with therapy for exjws. Very powerful.

Screwed up sexually

i was thinking about how the borg screws up and sexually neuters their flock by telling them when single to "deaden their body" and then boom as soon as there's a ring on the finger to not be denying eachother.. do any of you know of jws who have been screwed up by these teachings?

i know 2, 1 elder came back from honeymoon having a nervous breakdown unable to cope with the cd that sex produced in his head.

and the other called up her parents while on honeymoon, crying and begging for themto come and get her, since she was so shocked that sex hurt.

YES!!! I spent have spent years deconstructing and reconstructing how I view sex and sexuality. Its on the top of the list of things that nearly destroyed me. And wrecked many years of coming to terms with myself.

shouldn't you be thankful you don't have to do that?

@betheliesalot-I don't think anybody has ever stumbled over circumsision unless it is dragging on the floor.
