  Wacky Baccy Eh! Cannabis Now Legal in Canada

  so canada has legalized pot / marijuana / cannabis and you can go to stores today and buy some.

  the local news is covering it here in calgary with crowds of thousands expected at one of only 2 stores licensed in the city but last i saw, there were only 7 people in the line so who knows how popular it will be.

  i imagine all the people who really wanted to get it could already get it easily so this is more about expanding the market to new users who will be less inclined to queue for hours on day 1.. apparently you'll also be able to purchase online with discreet delivery by canada post.

  I'm in favor.

  I live in a state were it is legal. I have heard SO many stories from folks that have kicked pharmaceuticals because of Cannabis.

  The dealers- I knew (past tense) several marijuana dealers when it was illegal. Its cheaper at the dispensary now than it was when it was illegal here. Much to my own amusement because this one dude I knew thought he was big stuff until it was legalized. Then he had to get a real job because he couldn't compete.

  The town Im closest to has a population of 18,000 people. There are 24 dispensaries in that small town. The only thing that really changed here was the local marijuana dealers went out of business.

  I cant believe how many grandmas I see going into the dispensaries. That is a funny site to me.

  It ought to be interesting to see how it goes for Canada.

  so after much emotional struggle out into the open comes why my dear wife continues to want to stay with the wt organization.. i simply couldn't understand why someone so intelligent would suffer from such confusion wether to stay active or fade away when she has faced and accepted the anti-jw facts.

  simply put: she was raised with such sick instability that jw life was the only thing that provided stability, the only thing she felt she could count on.

  to this day this remains the primary reason she stays "in".

  Hmm.... thats a tough one.

  Professional counseling if she is willing.

  Find things you both can do together that is fun and fill your time with that.

  Surprise her with something awesome that requires you to go somewhere on a meeting night, just every so often to start. Perhaps that might make your wife feel even more 'safe and stable' with you, and 'stable' within her own skin.

  Find books on childhood trauma and abandonment issues ect, read them and leave them laying around.

  Perhaps, patience and sticking to your guns in a way that is loving will accelerate the process.

  one of their mothers burst into the jehovah's witness church in swansea and publicly accused him of being a paedophile only to receive a letter from solicitors warning her not to harass.

  judge geraint walters...described collins as a "devious, arrogant and self-righteous man" who had lived behind veil of respectability partly through his contact with the jehovah's witness church.

  I'm afraid if someone touched my child I would probably be in jail and plead temporary insanity, because there is no telling what I would do.

  It makes my brain hurt to think that someone would have ripped the innocence right out of my child.

  I was so protective of my son that even when I was still in the borg this cocky elder tried to spank my son for crying. "?" We were near the door because my son was crying like kids do.I literally shoved the elder out of the door and put my hands around his neck during the meeting. Two other elders pulled me off. I got no reprimand from this, ironically.

  Dont F%^# with my child!!! ...... Deep breaths, grrr

  i resigned from the jw's in my 20's over 30 years ago, i was immediately shunned by my entire family and it's remained that way with a few exceptions ever since.

  one of those exceptions was being contacted by a cousin a few years back and during that conversation i discovered that my mother had been and still was the prime mover in my complete and continuing shunning.

  i then used what contacts i had left to confirm it.

  Should kids learn cursive handwriting?

  i am an elementary school teacher of the fourth grade.

  in times past, students would start learning cursive handwriting in third grade and by fourth should be transitioning to writing in cursive at all times.

  as you might be aware, this has all but been taken out of the curriculum.

  My, how times changed quick.

  I take pride in cursive hand writing. I like to write letters and most always in cursive.

  A little off topic but I learned that Latin was taught in 25% or more american high schools, before I entered school. I felt like I got ripped off.
